Und ich will die Einwohner aus Asdod und den, der das Zepter hält, aus Askalon ausrotten und meine Hand wider Ekron kehren, daß umkommen soll, was von den Philistern noch übrig ist, spricht der HERR.

Ich vernichte den Herrscher von Aschdod und den Zepterträger von Aschkelon. Ich wende meine Hand gegen Ekron und der Rest der Philister wird verschwinden, spricht GOTT, der Herr.

Die Herrscher von Aschdod und Aschkelon bringe ich um, und auch die Stadt Ekron bekommt meine Macht zu spüren. Die Philister, die dann noch übrig geblieben sind, finden den Tod. Darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, mein Wort!
