und der HERR bezahle ihm sein Blut auf seinen Kopf, daß er zwei Männer erschlagen hat, die gerechter und besser waren denn er, und hat sie erwürgt mit dem Schwert, daß mein Vater David nichts darum wußte: Abner, den Sohn Ners, den Feldhauptmann über Israel, und Amasa, den Sohn Jethers, den Feldhauptmann über Juda;

Der HERR lasse sein Blut auf sein Haupt kommen, weil er ohne Wissen meines Vaters zwei Männer, die gerechter und besser waren als er, niedergestoßen und mit dem Schwert getötet hat: Abner, den Sohn Ners, den Heerführer Israels, und Amasa, den Sohn Jeters, den Heerführer Judas.

So wird der HERR ihn für den Mord an zwei Männern bestrafen, die weit ehrenhafter und besser waren als er: Abner, der Sohn von Ner und oberste Heerführer der Truppen Israels, und Amasa, der Sohn von Jeter und oberste Heerführer der Truppen Judas. Joab hat sie ohne Wissen meines Vaters mit dem Schwert erstochen.
