Idolatrous Elders Condemned

And there came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

1

Пришли ко мне несколько старейшин Израиля и сели, чтобы поговорить со мной.

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

И пришло ко мне слово Господа. Господь сказал:

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?

3

"Сын человеческий, эти люди пришли тебя уговаривать, чтобы ты спросил у Меня совета, но эти люди все ещё содержат у себя грязных идолов, которые склоняли их к грехам, они будут и дальше поклоняться им. Почему же они пришли ко Мне за советом, должен ли Я ответить на их вопросы? Нет, не должен.

Therefore speak to them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet, I Jehovah will answer him according to this, according to the multitude of his idols:

Но Я дам ответ — Я их накажу. Ты им должен сказать, что Господь Всемогущий говорит так: "Кто приходит к пророку за советом Господа, тому ответит не пророк, а Я Сам отвечу на вопросы, отвечу, даже если он всё ещё связан с грязным идолом и продолжает ему поклоняться. Я буду говорить с такими, не взирая на их грязных идолов.

that I may take the house of Israel by their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

Ибо Я хочу тронуть их сердца, хочу показать им Мою любовь, несмотря на то, что они покинули Меня ради грязных идолов".

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

Поэтому скажи всё это семье Израиля, скажи им, что Господь Всемогущий им говорит: "Вернитесь ко мне и оставьте идолов, отвернитесь от лжебогов.

7

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet to inquire of me by him, I Jehovah will answer him by myself;

И если любой из семьи Израиля или же чужеземец, живущий в Израиле, придёт ко Мне за советом, Я отвечу ему, даже если он до сих пор связан с идолами и поклоняется им. И Я дам ему ответ.

8

and I will set my face against that man, and will make him desolate, [so that he shall be] for a sign and for proverbs, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

Я обернусь против такого человека, Я уничтожу его, и он станет примером для других людей, станет посмешищем. Я исключу его из числа Моих людей, и тогда вы узнаете, что Я — Господь.

9

And if the prophet be enticed and shall speak a word, I Jehovah have enticed that prophet; and I will stretch out my hand against him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

И если пророк настолько глуп, чтобы вместо Меня дать совет, то Я покажу ему глупость его. Я уничтожу его силой Своей и исключу из Моего народа Израиля.

10

And they shall bear their iniquity: the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of the inquirer;

10

И оба, кто пришёл за советом к пророку и сам пророк, получат одинаковое наказание.

11

that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither make themselves any more unclean with all their transgressions; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Чтобы пророки Мои перестали уводить людей Моих от Меня и люди Мои прекратили осквернять себя грехами и стали Моими избранными людьми, а Я буду их Богом". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

12

God's Irrevocable Sentence

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

И вновь ко мне было слово Господа. Господь сказал:

13

Son of man, when a land sinneth against me by working unfaithfulness, and I stretch out my hand upon it, and break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off man and beast from it;

13

"Сын человеческий, Я накажу любой народ, который меня покидает и грешит против Меня. Я лишу их хлеба. Я пошлю на них голод. Я заберу и людей и животных из этой страны.

14

though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, should be in it, they should deliver [but] their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Я мог бы наказать эту землю, даже если бы там жили Ной, Даниил и Иов. Своей праведностью они сберегут свои жизни, но не смогут спасти целую страну". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

15

If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it become a desolation, so that no one passeth through because of the beasts;

Он сказал: "Я мог бы послать диких зверей на эту землю, и они истребили бы всех людей. И никто не пришёл бы в эту страну, потому что они боялись бы диких зверей.

16

-- though these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters: they only should be delivered, and the land should be a desolation.

Если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, Я спас бы их. Эти три человека могли бы спасти свои жизни, но не могли бы спасти других. Я обещаю, что даже их дети в этой злой земле были бы уничтожены". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

17

Or [if] I bring the sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man and beast from it,

Бог сказал: "Или Я мог бы наслать армию врагов на эту страну, войны, которые уничтожили бы её. Я забрал бы всех людей и животных.

18

and these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only themselves should be delivered.

Если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, они спасли бы только свои собственные жизни. Я обещаю, что эти три человека не могли бы спасти жизни других, даже своих детей! И эта злая земля была бы уничтожена". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

19

Or [if] I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast,

"Или Я послал бы на эту землю болезни. Я изолью свой гнев на них и убью всех людей и животных.

20

and Noah, Daniel, and Job should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither son nor daughter: they should [but] deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

20

Если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, Я обещаю, что они могли бы спасти свои жизни, но не смогли бы спасти жизни других, даже своих детей". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

21

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!

Затем Господь сказал: "Подумайте, как плохо будет Иерусалиму. Я пошлю все четыре наказания, пошлю вражескую армию, болезнь, голод и диких зверей, заберу всех людей и животных из этой страны.

22

But behold, there shall be left in it those that escape, who shall be brought out of [it], sons and daughters. Behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings; and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, as to all that I have brought upon it.

Некоторые избегут погибели и приведут к вам своих сыновей и дочерей, и вы поймёте, как им плохо, и утешитесь теми бедами, которые Я послал на Иерусалим.

23

And they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings; and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Вы увидите путь их жизни и всё плохое, что делают они, а затем вы поймёте, что Я не зря наказал этих людей". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.
