Solomon Builds the Temple
In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.

Im 480. Jahr nach dem Ausgang der Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland, im vierten Jahr des Königreichs Salomo über Israel, im Monat Siv, das ist der zweite Monat, ward das Haus des HERRN gebaut.
Das Haus aber, das der König Salomo dem HERRN baute, war 60 Ellen lang, 20 Ellen breit und 30 Ellen hoch.
The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.
Und er baute eine Halle vor dem Tempel, 20 Ellen lang nach der Breite des Hauses und zehn Ellen breit vor dem Hause her.
Und er machte an das Haus Fenster mit festen Stäben davor.
Und er baute einen Umgang an der Wand des Hauses ringsumher, daß er um den Tempel und um den Chor her ging, und machte Seitengemächer umher.
Der unterste Gang war fünf Ellen weit und der mittelste sechs Ellen weit und der dritte sieben Ellen weit; denn er machte Absätze außen am Hause umher, daß die Balken nicht in die Wände des Hauses eingriffen.
When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.
Und da das Haus gesetzt ward, waren die Steine zuvor ganz zugerichtet, daß man keinen Hammer noch Beil noch irgend ein eisernes Werkzeug im Bauen hörte.
Eine Tür aber war zur rechten Seite mitten im Hause, daß man durch eine Wendeltreppe hinaufging auf den Mittelgang und vom Mittelgang auf den dritten.
So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar.
Also baute er das Haus und vollendete es; und er deckte das Haus mit Balken und Tafelwerk von Zedern.
He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar.
Und er baute die Gänge um das ganze Haus herum, je fünf Ellen hoch, und verband sie mit dem Hause durch Balken von Zedernholz.
“Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
Also sei es mit dem Hause, das du baust: Wirst du in meinen Geboten wandeln und nach meinen Rechten tun und alle meine Gebote halten, darin zu wandeln, so will ich mein Wort mit dir bestätigen, wie ich deinem Vater David geredet habe,
And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.”
und will wohnen unter den Kindern Israel und will mein Volk Israel nicht verlassen.
He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress.
Er baute die Wände des Hauses inwendig mit Brettern von Zedern; von des Hauses Boden bis an die Decke täfelte er es mit Holz inwendig, und den Boden des Hauses täfelte er mit Tannenbrettern.
He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.
Und er baute von der hintern Seite des Hauses an 20 Ellen mit zedernen Brettern vom Boden bis an die Decke und baute also inwendig den Chor, das Allerheiligste.
The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.
Aber das Haus des Tempels (vor dem Chor) war 40 Ellen lang.
The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen.
Inwendig war das ganze Haus eitel Zedern mit gedrehten Knoten und Blumenwerk, daß man keinen Stein sah.
The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
Aber den Chor bereitete er inwendig im Haus, daß man die Lade des Bundes des HERRN dahin täte.
Und vor dem Chor, der 20 Ellen lang, 20 Ellen weit und 20 Ellen hoch war und überzogen mit lauterem Gold, täfelte er den Altar mit Zedern.
And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold.
Und Salomo überzog das Haus inwendig mit lauterem Golde und zog goldene Riegel vor dem Chor her, den er mit Gold überzogen hatte,
And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.
also daß das ganze Haus ganz mit Gold überzogen war; dazu auch den ganzen Altar vor dem Chor überzog er mit Gold.
In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high.
Er machte auch im Chor zwei Cherubim, zehn Ellen hoch, von Ölbaumholz.
Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other.
Fünf Ellen hatte ein Flügel eines jeglichen Cherubs, daß zehn Ellen waren vom Ende seines einen Flügels zum Ende seines andern Flügels.
The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form.
Also hatte der andere Cherub auch zehn Ellen, und war einerlei Maß und einerlei Gestalt beider Cherubim;
The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub.
auch war ein jeglicher Cherub zehn Ellen hoch.
He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house.
Und er tat die Cherubim inwendig ins Haus. Und die Cherubim breiteten ihre Flügel aus, daß eines Flügel rührte an diese Wand und des andern Cherubs Flügel rührte an die andere Wand; aber mitten im Hause rührte ein Flügel an den andern.
Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms.
Und an allen Wänden des Hauses um und um ließ er Schnitzwerk machen von ausgehöhlten Cherubim, Palmen und Blumenwerk inwendig und auswendig.
The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms.
Auch überzog er den Boden des Hauses mit goldenen Blechen inwendig und auswendig.
Und im Eingang des Chors machte er zwei Türen von Ölbaumholz mit fünfeckigen Pfosten
He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
und ließ Schnitzwerk darauf machen von Cherubim, Palmen und Blumenwerk und überzog sie mit goldenen Blechen.
So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square,
Also machte er auch im Eingang des Tempels viereckige Pfosten von Ölbaumholz
and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
und zwei Türen von Tannenholz, daß eine jegliche Tür zwei Blatt hatte aneinander hangen in ihren Angeln,
On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work.
und machte Schnitzwerk darauf von Cherubim, Palmen und Blumenwerk und überzog es mit Gold, genau wie es eingegraben war.
He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams.
Und er baute auch den inneren Hof von drei Reihen behauener Steine und von einer Reihe zederner Balken.
In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.
Im vierten Jahr, im Monat Siv, ward der Grund gelegt am Hause des HERRN,
And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it.
und im elften Jahr, im Monat Bul (das ist der achte Monat, ward das Haus bereitet, wie es sein sollte, daß sie sieben Jahre daran bauten.
