so are the daughters of Moab

Aber wie ein Vogel dahinfliegt, der aus dem Nest getrieben wird, so werden sein die Töchter Moabs an den Furten des Arnon.

Sammelt Rat, haltet Gericht, mache deinen Schatten des Mittags wie die Nacht; verbirg die Verjagten, und melde die Flüchtigen nicht!
Laß meine Verjagten bei dir herbergen; sei du für Moab ein Schirm vor dem Verstörer, so wird der Dränger ein Ende haben, der Verstörer aufhören und der Untertreter ablassen im Lande.

Es wird aber ein Stuhl bereitet werden aus Gnaden, daß einer darauf sitze in der Wahrheit, in der Hütte Davids, und richte und trachte nach Recht und fördere Gerechtigkeit.

Wir hören aber von dem Hochmut Moabs, daß er gar groß ist, daß auch ihr Hochmut, Stolz und Zorn größer ist denn ihre Macht.

Darum wird ein Moabiter über den andern heulen; allesamt werden sie heulen. Über die Grundfesten der Stadt Kir–Hareseth werden sie seufzen, ganz zerschlagen.

Denn Hesbon ist ein wüstes Feld geworden; der Weinstock zu Sibma ist verderbt; die Herren unter den Heiden haben seine edlen Reben zerschlagen, die da reichten bis gen Jaser und sich zogen in die Wüste; ihre Schößlinge sind zerstreut und über das Meer geführt.

Darum weine ich um Jaser und um den Weinstock zu Sibma und vergieße viel Tränen um Hesbon und Eleale. Denn es ist ein Gesang in deinen Sommer und in deine Ernte gefallen,

daß Freude und Wonne im Felde aufhört, und in den Weinbergen jauchzt noch ruft man nicht. Man keltert keinen Wein in den Keltern; ich habe dem Gesang ein Ende gemacht.
Therefore my inner parts moan like a lyre for Moab,
and my inmost self for Kir-hareseth.

Darum rauscht mein Herz über Moab wie eine Harfe und mein Inwendiges über Kir–Heres.
And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
Alsdann wird’s offenbar werden, wie Moab müde ist bei den Altären und wie er zu seinem Heiligtum gegangen sei, zu beten, und doch nichts ausgerichtet habe.
This is the word that the Lord spoke concerning Moab in the past.
Das ist’s, was der HERR dazumal wider Moab geredet hat.
But now the Lord has spoken, saying, “In three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, in spite of all his great multitude, and those who remain will be very few and feeble.”
Nun aber redet der HERR und spricht: In drei Jahren, wie eines Tagelöhners Jahre sind, wird die Herrlichkeit Moabs gering werden bei all der großen Menge, daß gar wenig übrigbleibe und nicht viel.
