Горе тобі, Самарії, короні пишно́ти Єфре́млян п'яни́х, квітці зів'ялій краси́ його го́рдости, що лежить на верхі́в'ї долини врожа́йної, від вина поп'яні́лих!
Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong;

Ось поту́жний та сильний у Господа, — мов злива із градом, мов буря руїнна, мов по́відь сильна́, заливна́, його кине на землю із силою!
The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim
will be trodden underfoot;

Ногами пото́птана буде корона пишно́ти Єфре́млян п'яни́х,
і станеться квітка зів'я́ла краси́ його гордости, що на верхі́в'ї долини врожайної, немов передчасно дозріла та смо́ква, що її як побачить люди́на, ковтає її, як вона ще в долоні його!
Стане Господь Саваот того дня за прекрасну корону, і за пишний вінок для останку наро́ду Його,

і духом права тому́, хто сидить у суді, і хоробрістю тим, хто до брами пове́ртає бій!
І ось ці від вина позбива́лись з дороги, і від п'янко́го напо́ю хитаються: священик і пророк позбива́лись з дороги напо́єм п'янки́м, від вина збаламу́тились, від напо́ю п'янко́го хита́ються, блу́дять вони у видіннях, у постановах своїх спотика́ються.

Бо кажете ви: „Заповіта ми склали зо смертю і з шео́лом зробили умову. Як перейде той бич, мов вода заливна́, то не при́йде до нас, бо брехню́ ми зробили притулком своїм, і в брехні́ ми схова́лись!“
Тому́ Господь Бог сказав так: Оце поклав каменя Я на Сіоні, каменя ви́пробуваного, нарі́жного, дорогого, міцно закла́деного. Хто вірує в нього, не буде той засоро́млений!

І заповіт ваш із смертю пола́маний буде, а ваша умова з шео́лом не втри́мається: як пере́йде нищівна́ ка́ра, то вас вона сто́пче!

Бо повстане Господь, немов на горі Перацім; затремтить Він у гніві, немов у долині в Гів'оні, щоб Свій чин учинити, предивний Свій чин, щоб зробити роботу Свою, незви́чайну роботу Свою!

Тож не насміха́йтесь тепер, щоб не стали міцнішими ваші кайда́ни, бо призна́чене зни́щення чув я від Господа, Бога Саваота, про всю землю.

Чи кожного дня о́ре ра́тай на по́сів, ралить землю свою й борону́є?
Чи ж, як рівною зробить поверхню її, він не сіє чорну́ху й не кидає кмин, не розсіва́є пшеницю та просо й ячмінь на озна́ченім місці, а жито в ме́жах її?
For he is rightly instructed;

Бож не бороно́ю чорну́ха молотиться, і ко́ло возо́ве не ходить по кмині, а палицею б'ють чорну́ху та києм — той кмин.
Розтирається збіжжя? Ні, бо його не наза́вжди моло́титься ко́нче, і підганяють ко́ло возо́ве та коні на нього, а не розтирають його.
