Arrangement of the Camp
The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

“The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side.
Alle Israeliten sollen bei ihren Feldzeichen lagern, bei den Zeichen ihrer Großfamilie. Gegenüber dem Offenbarungszelt, rings umher sollen sie lagern.
Those to camp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah by their companies, the chief of the people of Judah being Nahshon the son of Amminadab,
Vorne, gegen Sonnenaufgang hin, ist das Lager Judas mit seinem Feldzeichen, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Anführer der Nachkommen Judas ist Nachschon, der Sohn Amminadabs;
Those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, the chief of the people of Issachar being Nethanel the son of Zuar,
Es lagern daneben: der Stamm Issachar; Anführer der Issachariter ist Netanel, der Sohn Zuars;
Then the tribe of Zebulun, the chief of the people of Zebulun being Eliab the son of Helon,
Der Stamm Sebulon; Anführer der Sebuloniter ist Eliab, der Sohn Helons;
All those listed of the camp of Judah, by their companies, were 186,400. They shall set out first on the march.
Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten, die zum Lager Judas gehören, beträgt 186 400 Mann, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Sie brechen als Erste auf.
“On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben by their companies, the chief of the people of Reuben being Elizur the son of Shedeur,
Im Süden ist das Lager Rubens mit seinem Feldzeichen, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Anführer der Rubeniter ist Elizur, der Sohn Schedëurs;
And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, the chief of the people of Simeon being Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai,

Then the tribe of Gad, the chief of the people of Gad being Eliasaph the son of Reuel,
Der Stamm Gad; Anführer der Gaditer ist Eljasaf, der Sohn Reguëls;
All those listed of the camp of Reuben, by their companies, were 151,450. They shall set out second.
Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten, die zum Lager Rubens gehören, beträgt 151 450 Mann, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Sie brechen als Zweite auf.
“Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so shall they set out, each in position, standard by standard.
Dann bricht das Offenbarungszelt auf und das Lager der Leviten, das in der Mitte der Lager liegt. Wie sie lagern, so sollen sie aufbrechen, jeder an seiner Stelle, nach ihren Feldzeichen geordnet.
“On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim by their companies, the chief of the people of Ephraim being Elishama the son of Ammihud,
Im Westen ist das Lager Efraims mit seinem Feldzeichen, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Anführer der Efraimiter ist Elischama, der Sohn Ammihuds;
And next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh, the chief of the people of Manasseh being Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur,
Es lagern daneben: der Stamm Manasse; Anführer der Manassiter ist Gamliël, der Sohn Pedazurs;
Then the tribe of Benjamin, the chief of the people of Benjamin being Abidan the son of Gideoni,
Der Stamm Benjamin; Anführer der Benjaminiter ist Abidan, der Sohn Gidonis;
All those listed of the camp of Ephraim, by their companies, were 108,100. They shall set out third on the march.
Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten, die zum Lager Efraims gehören, beträgt 108 100 Mann, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Sie brechen als Dritte auf.
“On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan by their companies, the chief of the people of Dan being Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai,
Im Norden ist das Lager Dans mit seinem Feldzeichen, geordnet nach Abteilungen. Anführer der Daniter ist Ahiëser, der Sohn Ammischaddais;
And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, the chief of the people of Asher being Pagiel the son of Ochran,
Es lagern daneben: der Stamm Ascher; Anführer der Ascheriter ist Pagiël, der Sohn Ochrans;
Then the tribe of Naphtali, the chief of the people of Naphtali being Ahira the son of Enan,
Der Stamm Naftali; Anführer der Naftaliter ist Ahira, der Sohn Enans;
All those listed of the camp of Dan were 157,600. They shall set out last, standard by standard.”
Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten, die zum Lager Dans gehören, beträgt 157 600 Mann. Sie brechen als Letzte auf, nach ihren Feldzeichen geordnet.
These are the people of Israel as listed by their fathers’ houses. All those listed in the camps by their companies were 603,550.
Das sind die gemusterten Israeliten, geordnet nach ihren Großfamilien. Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten im Lager, geordnet nach Abteilungen, beträgt 603 550 Mann.
But the Levites were not listed among the people of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses.
Die Leviten wurden, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte, unter den Israeliten nicht gemustert.
Thus did the people of Israel. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they camped by their standards, and so they set out, each one in his clan, according to his fathers’ house.
Die Israeliten führten alles aus, was der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte; sie lagerten geordnet nach ihren Feldzeichen und so brachen sie auch auf, jeder in seiner Sippe und bei seiner Großfamilie.
