Joseph Reveals his Identity
Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

Da konnte Josef sich nicht länger beherrschen. »Verlasst den Raum!«, befahl er seinen Hofbeamten erregt. Nun war er mit seinen Brüdern allein.
And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.
Er brach in Tränen aus und weinte so laut, dass die Ägypter es hörten. Auch am Hof des Pharaos sprachen bald alle davon.
And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
»Ich bin Josef!«, sagte er zu seinen Brüdern. »Lebt mein Vater noch?« Fassungslos standen die Brüder vor ihm. Sie brachten keinen Ton heraus.
And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
»Kommt doch näher!«, sagte Josef. Sie traten zu ihm, und er wiederholte: »Ich bin euer Bruder Josef, den ihr nach Ägypten verkauft habt.
Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
Aber ihr braucht euch nicht zu fürchten. Macht euch keine Vorwürfe, dass ihr mich hierher verkauft habt, denn Gott wollte es so! Er hat mich vorausgeschickt, um euch zu retten.
For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
Schon seit zwei Jahren hungern die Menschen, und auch in den nächsten fünf Jahren wird man kein Feld bestellen und keine Ernte einbringen können.
And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Gott hat mich euch vorausgesandt, damit ihr mit euren Familien am Leben bleibt. Denn er will ein großes Volk aus euren Nachkommen entstehen lassen.
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Nicht ihr habt mich hierhergeschickt, sondern Gott! Er hat mir diese hohe Stellung gegeben: Ich bin der Berater des Pharaos und der Vorsteher seines Reiches. Ganz Ägypten hört auf das, was ich sage.
Joseph Sends for his Father
Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:

Beeilt euch und kehrt zu meinem Vater zurück! Sagt ihm: ›Dein Sohn Josef lässt dir ausrichten: Gott hat mich zum Herrn über ganz Ägypten gemacht. Komm doch so schnell wie möglich zu mir!
And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
Du kannst im Gebiet Goschen wohnen, dann bist du ganz in meiner Nähe. Bring deine Familie, deinen Besitz und dein Vieh mit!
And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
Die Hungersnot wird noch fünf Jahre dauern. Ich werde für euch sorgen, und keiner wird mehr hungern müssen.‹
And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.
Ihr seht doch mit eigenen Augen, dass ich wirklich euer Bruder bin«, fuhr Josef fort. »Benjamin, auch du hast mich gesehen.
And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
Darum erzählt meinem Vater von meiner hohen Stellung und von allem, was ihr erlebt habt, und bringt ihn schnell hierher!«
And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
Er fiel Benjamin um den Hals und weinte. Auch Benjamin begann zu weinen.
Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
Dann umarmte er die anderen und küsste sie unter Tränen. Endlich fanden die Brüder ihre Sprache wieder und redeten mit ihm.
Pharaoh Invites Jacob to Egypt
And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.

Bald wusste jeder am Hof des Pharaos: »Josefs Brüder sind gekommen!« Der Pharao und seine Beamten freuten sich.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
Er sagte zu Josef: »Richte deinen Brüdern aus, sie sollen ihre Tiere beladen und nach Kanaan ziehen. Sag ihnen:
And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
›Holt euren Vater und eure Familien hierher! Ihr könnt in unserem fruchtbarsten Gebiet wohnen und das Beste essen, was es in Ägypten gibt!‹
Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
Sie sollen einige Wagen mitnehmen und damit euren Vater, die Frauen und die Kinder holen.
Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
Ihrem Besitz zu Hause brauchen sie nicht nachzutrauern. Hier bekommen sie das Beste, was wir haben!«
And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
Josef gab seinen Brüdern die Wagen und Verpflegung für die Reise.
To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.
Jedem schenkte er ein schönes Gewand, nur Benjamin gab er fünf Gewänder und 300 Silberstücke.
And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.
Seinem Vater schickte er zehn Esel mit den besten Waren Ägyptens sowie zehn Eselinnen mit Getreide und anderen Nahrungsmitteln für die Reise.
So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.
Dann sandte er seine Brüder los und ermahnte sie: »Macht euch keine Sorgen und streitet nicht unterwegs!«
The Revival of Jacob
And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
So traten sie die Heimreise an. Kaum waren die Brüder bei ihrem Vater angekommen,
And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.
da riefen sie: »Josef lebt! Er ist sogar Herrscher über ganz Ägypten!« Jakob war wie betäubt — er glaubte ihnen kein Wort.
And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
Sie bestürmten ihn und erzählten alles, was Josef ihnen aufgetragen hatte. Sie zeigten ihm die Wagen, die Josef geschickt hatte, um ihn zu holen. Da kam wieder Leben in ihn.
