The Mighty Men Join David at Ziklag
Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

Als David noch in Ziklag lebte, um sich vor Saul, dem Sohn von Kisch, zu verstecken, schlossen sich ihm erfahrene Soldaten an, die im Krieg für ihn kämpften.
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
Aus der Sippe der Korachiter schlossen sich David folgende Männer an: Elkana, Jischija, Asarel, Joëser und Joschobam;
And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
dazu kamen noch Joëla und Sebadja, die Söhne von Jeroham, aus Gedor.
Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
Auch vom Stamm Gad liefen erfahrene Soldaten zu David über. Sie kamen zu ihm, als er sich noch in der Wüste in einer Bergfestung verborgen hielt. Sie waren kampferprobt, mutig wie Löwen und in den Bergen flink wie Gazellen. Sie waren mit Schild und Speer bewaffnet.

Alle elf vom Stamm Gad wurden später Heerführer. Schon der Schwächste von ihnen konnte es im Kampf mit hundert Gegnern aufnehmen, der Stärkste sogar mit tausend.
And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

Auch von den Stämmen Benjamin und Juda kamen einige Männer zu David in die Bergfestung.
Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
David ging ihnen entgegen und fragte: »Kommt ihr in friedlicher Absicht zu mir? Wollt ihr mir helfen? Dann könnt ihr euch meinen Soldaten anschließen! Oder wollt ihr mich an meine Feinde verraten, obwohl ich nichts verbrochen habe? Dann wird der Gott unserer Vorfahren euch strafen, denn er sieht es.«
And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
Da wurde Amasai, der spätere Befehlshaber von Davids Elitetruppe, vom Geist Gottes ergriffen und rief: »Zu dir, David, wollen wir gehören, und für dich, Isais Sohn, kämpfen wir! Wir wünschen dir und deinen Anhängern Erfolg und Sieg! Denn dein Gott ist da und hilft dir!« Da nahm David die Männer bei sich auf und ernannte sie zu Führern seiner Kriegstruppe.
As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.
Auch vom Stamm Manasse liefen einige Soldaten zu David über, als dieser mit den Philistern gegen Saul in den Krieg ziehen wollte. Zuletzt aber durfte David nicht an der Schlacht teilnehmen. Die Fürsten der Philister befürchteten, er könne wieder zu Saul, seinem früheren Herrn, überlaufen und sie ins Verderben stürzen. Darum schickten sie ihn zurück.
And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.
Als David nun auf dem Weg nach Ziklag war, schlossen sich ihm folgende Offiziere vom Stamm Manasse an: Adnach, Josabad, Jediaël, Michael, Josabad, Elihu und Zilletai. Jeder von ihnen war Befehlshaber über 1000 Soldaten gewesen.
For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
von den Stämmen Ruben, Gad und dem halben Stamm Manasse, die östlich des Jordan lebten, waren es 120.000 Mann in voller Kriegsrüstung.
And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
Sie alle kamen geordnet in Truppen nach Hebron und hatten ein und dasselbe Ziel: Sie wollten David zum König über ganz Israel machen. Das war auch der Wunsch der übrigen Israeliten.
Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
Die Truppenverbände blieben drei Tage bei David. Die Einwohner von Hebron versorgten sie mit Nahrung.
