The Ark Enters the Temple
Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.

Als Salomo den Bau des Tempels vollendet hatte, brachte er alle Silber- und Goldschätze mitsamt den übrigen Gegenständen, die sein Vater David Gott geweiht hatte, in die Schatzkammern des Tempels.
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.
Salomo rief die führenden Männer von Israel, alle Stammes- und Sippenoberhäupter, nach Jerusalem. Sie sollten dabei sein, wenn die Bundeslade des HERRN aus der »Stadt Davids«, dem Stadtteil Jerusalems auf dem Berg Zion, zum Tempel gebracht wurde.
Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.
Und so kamen im 7. Monat des Jahres alle männlichen Israeliten in Jerusalem zusammen. In diesem Monat wurde auch das Laubhüttenfest gefeiert.
And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.
Als alle versammelt waren, hoben die Leviten die Bundeslade hoch
And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.
und trugen sie hinauf zum Tempel. Zusammen mit den Priestern brachten sie auch das heilige Zelt hinauf, mit all seinen geweihten Gegenständen.
Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
König Salomo und die ganze Gemeinschaft der Israeliten, die zu diesem Fest gekommen waren, hatten sich bei der Bundeslade versammelt. Sie opferten so viele Schafe und Rinder, dass man sie nicht mehr zählen konnte.
And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:
Die Priester brachten die Bundeslade an den vorgesehenen Platz in den hinteren Raum des Tempels. Dort im Allerheiligsten stellten sie die Bundeslade unter die beiden Keruben.
For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
Deren ausgebreitete Flügel beschirmten nun die Bundeslade samt ihren Tragstangen.
And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.
Die beiden Stangen waren so lang, dass man sie vom Heiligtum aus sehen konnte, wenn man direkt vor dem Allerheiligsten stand. Doch vom Vorhof aus sah man sie nicht. Noch heute befindet sich die Bundeslade an diesem Ort.
There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
Damals lagen nur die beiden Steintafeln darin, die Mose am Berg Horeb hineingelegt hatte, als der HERR mit den Israeliten nach dem Auszug aus Ägypten einen Bund schloss.
God's Glory Fills the Temple
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:

Alle Priester, die zur Einweihung des Tempels gekommen waren, hatten sich für das Fest gereinigt, auch wenn ihre Abteilung in diesen Tagen keinen Tempeldienst hatte.
Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
Auch die Sänger der Leviten waren gekommen: die Leiter Asaf, Heman und Jedutun mit ihren Söhnen und Verwandten. Sie trugen Gewänder aus feinem weißen Leinen und standen mit Zimbeln, Harfen und Lauten an der Ostseite des Altars. Bei ihnen hatten sich 120 Priester aufgestellt, die auf Trompeten spielten.
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
Zusammen stimmten die Sänger und Musiker ein Loblied für den HERRN an. Begleitet von Trompeten, Zimbeln und anderen Instrumenten sangen sie das Lied: »Der HERR ist gütig, seine Gnade hört niemals auf!« Während sie sangen, verließen die Priester wieder den Tempel, und es kam eine Wolke auf ihn herab.
