How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
Wie lange noch, HERR, vergisst du mich ganz? Wie lange noch verbirgst du dein Angesicht vor mir?
Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Wie lange noch muss ich Sorgen tragen in meiner Seele, Kummer in meinem Herzen Tag für Tag? Wie lange noch darf mein Feind sich über mich erheben?
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
Blick doch her, gib mir Antwort, HERR, mein Gott, erleuchte meine Augen, damit ich nicht im Tod entschlafe,
But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
damit mein Feind nicht sagen kann: Ich habe ihn überwältigt, damit meine Gegner nicht jubeln, weil ich wanke!
