Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen.
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
HERR, wie lange willst du mein so gar vergessen? Wie lange verbirgst du dein Antlitz vor mir?
Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
(Wie lange soll ich sorgen in meiner Seele und mich ängsten in meinem Herzen täglich? Wie lange soll sich mein Feind über mich erheben?
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
Schaue doch und erhöre mich, HERR, mein Gott! Erleuchte meine Augen, daß ich nicht im Tode entschlafe,
But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
(daß nicht mein Feind rühme, er sei mein mächtig geworden, und meine Widersacher sich nicht freuen, daß ich niederliege.
