Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Warum toben die Heiden, und die Völker reden so vergeblich?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Die Könige der Erde lehnen sich auf, und die Herren ratschlagen miteinander wider den HERRN und seinen Gesalbten:
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Lasset uns zerreißen ihre Bande und von uns werfen ihre Seile!
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Aber der im Himmel wohnt, lachet ihrer, und der HERR spottet ihrer.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Er wird einst mit ihnen reden in seinem Zorn, und mit seinem Grimm wird er sie schrecken.
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Aber ich habe meinen König eingesetzt auf meinem heiligen Berg Zion.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ich will von der Weise predigen, daß der HERR zu mir gesagt hat: »Du bist mein Sohn, heute habe ich dich gezeuget;
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
heische von mir, so will ich dir die Heiden zum Erbe geben und der Welt Enden zum Eigentum.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Du sollst sie mit einem eisernen Zepter zerschlagen; wie Töpfe sollst du sie zerschmeißen.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
So lasset euch nun weisen, ihr Könige, und lasset euch züchtigen, ihr Richter auf Erden!
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Dienet dem HERRN mit Furcht und freuet euch mit Zittern!
