Von David. Ein Weisheitslied. Selig der, dessen Frevel vergeben und dessen Sünde bedeckt ist.
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Selig der Mensch, dem der HERR die Schuld nicht zur Last legt und in dessen Geist keine Falschheit ist.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
Solang ich es verschwieg, zerfiel mein Gebein, den ganzen Tag musste ich stöhnen.
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
Denn deine Hand liegt schwer auf mir bei Tag und bei Nacht; meine Lebenskraft war verdorrt wie durch die Glut des Sommers. [Sela]
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Da bekannte ich dir meine Sünde und verbarg nicht länger meine Schuld vor dir. Ich sagte: Meine Frevel will ich dem HERRN bekennen. Und du hast die Schuld meiner Sünde vergeben. [Sela]
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
Darum soll jeder Fromme zu dir beten; solange du dich finden lässt. Fluten hohe Wasser heran, ihn werden sie nicht erreichen.
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Du bist mein Schutz, du bewahrst mich vor Not und rettest mich und hüllst mich in Jubel. [Sela]
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Ich unterweise dich und zeige dir den Weg, den du gehen sollst. Ich will dir raten, über dir wacht mein Auge.
Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
Werdet nicht wie Ross und Maultier, die ohne Verstand sind. Mit Zaum und Zügel muss man ihr Ungestüm bändigen, sonst bleiben sie nicht in deiner Nähe.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
Der Frevler leidet viele Schmerzen, doch wer dem HERRN vertraut, den wird er mit seiner Huld umgeben.
