I Will Sing of His Love Forever

{Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.} I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Господи, Ти був для нас притулком із роду в рід.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

Перш, ніж постали гори й були створені Земля і Всесвіт, від віку й до віку Ти є.

3

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

Ти не повертай людини до приниження. Ти ж бо сказав: Поверніться, людські сини!

4

Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

Адже у Твоїх очах тисяча років — як учорашній день, що минув, — як нічна сторожа [1].

And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

Роки стануть для них погордою. Тож вранці минеться, як трава, —

For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

вранці розцвіте і минеться: ввечері зів’яне, задеревіє і засохне.

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

Бо ми поникли перед Твоїм гнівом, стривожені Твоїм обуренням.

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

Ти поставив перед Собою наші беззаконня, наш вік — у світлі Твого обличчя.

Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

Отож, усі наші дні промайнули, ми поникли перед Твоїм гнівом. Наші літа схожі на павутину.

10

Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

При тому днів нашого віку — сімдесят років; якщо ж у силі, — то вісімдесят років; і більшість із них — важка праця і страждання, бо нас знаходить сумирність, і ми зазнаємо покарання.

The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Хто знає силу Твого гніву і через Твій страх спроможний розпізнати Твій гнів?

The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.

Таким чином вияви нам Твою потугу, і тих, які прив’язалися серцем до мудрості.

Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Повернися ж, Господи! До яких пір? Дай себе впросити за Своїх рабів.

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

Уранці ми сповнилися Твоїм милосердям, раділи й веселилися всі наші дні, —

15

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

веселилися за ті дні, коли Ти нас упокорював, — за літа, в яких ми бачили лихо.

16

In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

16

І поглянь на Своїх рабів, на Свої діла — і попровадь їхніх синів.

17

For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

Нехай світло Господа, нашого Бога, буде над нами, і Ти за нас керуй ділами наших рук, — [ділом наших рук керуй].
