Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

Eines Tages wird ein gerechter König regieren. Auch seine obersten Beamten werden sich an das Recht halten.
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
Jeder von ihnen wird für das Volk sein wie ein windgeschützter Ort im Sturm, wie ein Schutzdach beim Wolkenbruch, wie ein sprudelnder Bach in der Steppe, wie der kühle Schatten eines hohen Felsens in glühend heißer Wüste.
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
Dann wird keiner mehr verblendet sein; alle sehen wieder klar und hören aufmerksam hin.
The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
Hitzköpfe lernen, überlegt und einsichtsvoll zu handeln, und selbst Menschen, denen das Reden schwerfiel, können fließend und deutlich sprechen.
The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
Ein unverbesserlicher Narr wird dann nicht mehr vornehm genannt, kein Betrüger wird mehr als ehrlich hingestellt.
For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
Denn ein Dummkopf wird immer dummes Geschwätz von sich geben. Er will nur Unheil anrichten und schreckt vor keiner gottlosen Tat zurück. Was er über den HERRN sagt, ist verkehrt und führt andere in die Irre. Den Hungrigen gibt er nichts zu essen, und Durstige lässt er nicht trinken.
The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
Auch der Betrüger hat nichts als üble Machenschaften im Sinn: Er schmiedet hinterlistige Pläne, um die Armen mit falschen Aussagen zugrunde zu richten, selbst wenn diese im Recht sind.
But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
Ein ehrlicher Mensch dagegen ist auf das Gute bedacht und setzt sich dafür ein, dass die Wahrheit siegt.

Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

Sorglos lebt ihr in den Tag hinein, ihr Frauen — hört, was ich euch sage! Ihr unbekümmerten Mädchen, hört mir zu!
Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
Noch gut ein Jahr, dann werdet ihr vor Angst zittern, ihr leichtfertigen Frauen. Dann gibt es keine Weinlese und auch keine Obsternte mehr.
Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
Ja, fürchtet euch, ihr Sorglosen, und zittert, ihr Unbekümmerten! Legt eure feinen Gewänder ab und zieht Trauerkleider an!
They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
In eurer Verzweiflung werdet ihr euch alle mit den Händen an die Brust schlagen und um die schönen Felder und die fruchtbaren Weinberge klagen:
Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
Unkraut und Dornengestrüpp überwuchern die Äcker im ganzen Land. Die Häuser sind zerstört, in denen ihr so viel Freude erlebt habt; die Stadt, die heute noch so lebenslustig ist, wird in Trümmern liegen.
Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
Verlassen steht der Palast da; alles Leben ist aus den Straßen verschwunden; Totenstille liegt über der Stadt. Burghügel und Wachturm werden für immer zu Schlupfwinkeln der Tiere: Wildesel fühlen sich dort wohl, und Herden weiden zwischen den Ruinen.
Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
So wird es bleiben, bis der Geist Gottes aus der Höhe über uns kommt. Dann wird die Wüste in einen Obstgarten verwandelt, dicht wie im Wald stehen die Bäume beieinander.
Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
Im ganzen Land beachtet man das Recht. Überall herrscht Gerechtigkeit, in der Wüste wie im fruchtbaren Land.
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Und wo es gerecht zugeht, da herrschen auch Friede, Ruhe und Sicherheit — für immer.
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
Der Herr sagt: »Mein Volk lebt dann in einem Land, in dem Frieden herrscht. Ruhig und ohne Sorgen wohnen sie dort, ihre Häuser sind vor jeder Gefahr sicher.
When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
Den Wald der Feinde aber wird der Hagel zerschlagen, ihre Stadt wird untergehen.
