Freuen wird sich die Wüste, und das dürre Land wird jubeln. Die Steppe wird fröhlich singen und aufblühen wie ein Meer von Narzissen.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
In voller Blüte steht sie da und singt und jubelt vor Freude. Schön wie der Wald im Libanon soll sie werden, prächtig wie der Berg Karmel und fruchtbar wie die Scharon-Ebene. Dann wird jeder die Herrlichkeit und Pracht des HERRN, unseres Gottes, sehen.
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
Stärkt die kraftlosen Hände! Lasst die zitternden Knie wieder fest werden!
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Sagt denen, die sich fürchten: »Fasst neuen Mut! Habt keine Angst mehr, denn euer Gott ist bei euch! Jetzt wird er euren Feinden alles Unrecht vergelten, das sie euch angetan haben. Gott selbst kommt, um euch zu retten.«
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Dann werden die Augen der Blinden geöffnet, und die Tauben können auf einmal hören.
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
Gelähmte springen wie ein Hirsch, und Stumme singen aus voller Kehle. In der Wüste brechen Quellen hervor, Bäche fließen durch die öde Steppe.
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Teiche entstehen, wo vorher heißer Wüstensand war. In der dürren Landschaft sprudelt Wasser aus dem Boden. Wo heute noch Schakale lagern, wachsen dann Gras, Binsen und Schilf.
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
Eine Straße wird es dort geben, die man die »Heilige Straße« nennt. Kein unreiner Mensch wird sie betreten und kein Gottloser seinen Fuß darauf setzen, denn sie ist nur für Gottes Volk bestimmt.
No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
Kein Löwe liegt am Wegrand auf der Lauer, auch andere Raubtiere gibt es dort nicht. Nur die erlösten Menschen gehen auf dieser Straße.
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Alle, die der HERR befreit hat, werden jubelnd aus der Gefangenschaft zum Berg Zion zurückkehren. Dann sind Trauer und Sorge für immer vorbei, Glück und Frieden halten Einzug, und die Freude hört niemals auf.
