Kingly Power Abused

Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

Бог сказал мне: Ты должен петь печальную песнь о правителях Израиля:

And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.

"Посмотри на мать свою, львицу, лежащую среди львов, окружённую множеством маленьких львят её.

And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.

Один из них вырос, он стал львом молодым, он еду добывать научился, он человека съел.

The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.

Народы слышали рык его и поймали его в ловушку. Заковали его в цепи и отвели в Египет.

Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.

Львица думала, что этот львёнок вожаком станет, но не сбылись надежды её. Другого взяла она львёнка и воспитывала его, чтобы стал он львом молодым.

And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.

Он пошёл на охоту вместе со взрослыми львами и научился охоте. Он убил и съел человека.

And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.

Он на дворцы нападал, уничтожал города, все люди в стране боялись рёва его.

Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.

Тогда люди во всей округе на него поставили сети и поймали его.

And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.

Они в цепи его заковали и посадили в клетку. Они к царю Вавилона отвезли, как пленного его. И теперь в горах израильских рёв не слышен его.

Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.

Твоя мать была виноградником, посаженным возле воды. Она дала много лоз, потому что имела много воды.

And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

Она дала крепкую ветвь, которая стала скипетром царским. Лоза поднялась высоко среди густых деревьев. Среди густых ветвей она видна была, потому что была высока.

But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.

Но в гневе вырвали ту лозу. На землю брошена она. Ветер, пришедший с востока, высушил ветви её. Сорваны её плоды. Её сильные ветви высохли и были огнём сожжены.

And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.

А теперь она посажена в пустыне, где землю мучает жажда.

And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

Вырвался огонь из её ветвей и уничтожил все ветви её и плоды. И не осталось крепкой ветви, которая могла быть царским скипетром". Это печальная песня, это песня о смерти".
