The Slaughter of Gog's Armies
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

Du Mensch, richte Gog, dem obersten Herrscher über Meschech und Tubal, aus, was ich ihm zu sagen habe: Jetzt bekommst du es mit mir, Gott, dem HERRN, zu tun!
And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
Ich lenke dich und zwinge dich zu gehen, wohin ich will; vom äußersten Norden lasse ich dich ins Bergland Israel ziehen.
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
Dort schlage ich dir den Bogen aus der linken Hand und lasse dir die Pfeile aus der rechten Hand gleiten.
Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
In den Bergen von Israel wirst du in der Schlacht fallen, und mit dir alle deine Soldaten aus den anderen Völkern. Auf dem freien Feld liegen eure Leichen herum, ich gebe sie den Raubvögeln aller Art und den wilden Tieren zum Fraß. Das sage ich, Gott, der HERR. Mein Wort gilt!
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Ich lege Feuer in den Städten von Magog und in den Küstenländern, deren Bewohner sich so sicher fühlen. Dann müssen sie einsehen, dass ich der HERR bin.
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Inmitten meines Volkes Israel erweise ich mich als der heilige Gott. Ich lasse nicht länger zu, dass mein Name in den Schmutz gezogen wird, sondern sorge dafür, dass die Völker erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, der heilige Gott Israels.
Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
Ja, der Tag kommt, an dem ich Gericht über sie halten werde. Dann wird alles so eintreffen, wie ich es angekündigt habe. Darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, mein Wort!«
And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
»Die Einwohner der Städte Israels werden aufs Schlachtfeld gehen und dort die Waffen ihrer Feinde einsammeln. Mit den Schilden, Bogen und Pfeilen, den Keulen und Lanzen können sie sieben Jahre lang Feuer machen.
So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
Sie brauchen kein Holz mehr auf den Feldern zu suchen, und im Wald müssen sie keine Bäume mehr fällen. Denn die Waffen ihrer Feinde sind Brennholz genug! Nun werden sie diejenigen plündern und berauben, die das Gleiche mit ihnen tun wollten. Darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, mein Wort.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
In jener Zeit bestimme ich einen Ort, wo Gog begraben werden soll: Es ist das Tal Abarim (›Tal der Durchreisenden‹) östlich vom Toten Meer. Mit Gog wird auch sein ganzes Heer dort bestattet, darum kann man das Tal nicht mehr betreten. Von da an heißt es Tal Hamon Gog (›Tal der Truppen Gogs‹).
And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Sieben Monate werden die Israeliten brauchen, um alle Leichen dort zu begraben, damit das Land nicht länger unrein ist.
Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
Das ganze Volk wird dabei helfen. Dann wird man Israel rühmen, weil ich vor aller Augen meine Herrlichkeit offenbart habe. Das verspreche ich, Gott, der HERR.
And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
Nach diesen sieben Monaten werden die Israeliten Männer damit beauftragen, durch das ganze Land zu ziehen. Sie sollen überall nach Gefallenen suchen, die noch nicht begraben wurden. Denn auch sie müssen bestattet werden, damit das Land nicht länger unrein ist.
And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
Wenn diese Männer nun irgendwo auch nur einen Menschenknochen finden, sollen sie die Stelle kennzeichnen, damit die Totengräber ihn im Tal Hamon Gog bestatten können.
And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.
Auf diese Weise wird das ganze Land wieder rein. Auch eine Stadt in Israel wird nach den gefallenen Soldaten Gogs ›Hamona‹ genannt werden.«
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
Gott, der HERR, sprach zu mir: »Du Mensch, rufe alle Vögel und die wilden Tiere herbei: Kommt von überall her, versammelt euch im Bergland Israel! Denn dort bereite ich ein großes Opfermahl für euch zu, kommt, fresst Fleisch und trinkt Blut!
Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
Ja, fresst das Fleisch von kampferprobten Soldaten, und trinkt das Blut von mächtigen Herrschern! Sie alle werden geschlachtet wie Opfertiere, wie Schafböcke, Lämmer und Ziegenböcke, wie Stiere und gemästete Rinder aus Baschan.
And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
Fresst euch satt an ihrem Fett, berauscht euch am Blut der Opfer, die ich für euch geschlachtet habe!
Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
An meinem Tisch könnt ihr essen, so viel ihr wollt, von Pferden, Reitern, Heerführern und Soldaten. Mein Wort gilt!«
Israel to Be Restored
And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

»Wenn ich Gericht gehalten habe über Gog und sein Heer, wenn ich mein Urteil an ihm vollstreckt habe, werden die anderen Völker meine Macht und Herrlichkeit sehen.
So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Und auch die Israeliten werden erkennen, dass ich der HERR, ihr Gott, bin. Nie mehr werden sie das vergessen.
And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
Dann begreifen die anderen Völker, dass die Israeliten wegen ihrer Schuld in die Verbannung gehen mussten. Weil sie mir untreu geworden sind, habe auch ich mich von ihnen abgewandt und sie in die Gewalt ihrer Feinde gegeben. Alle ihre Soldaten fielen im Krieg.
According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
Ja, wegen ihres Götzendienstes und ihrer schmutzigen Taten habe ich sie verlassen und sie so behandelt, wie sie es verdienten.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
Doch jetzt sage ich, Gott, der HERR: Ich wende das Schicksal meines Volkes zum Guten und habe Erbarmen mit ihnen, den Nachkommen von Jakob. Mit ganzer Kraft setze ich mich dafür ein, dass mein heiliger Name wieder geehrt wird.
After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
Wenn die Israeliten sicher und in Frieden in ihrem Land leben, dann werden sie sich schämen, weil sie mir untreu waren.
When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Ich bringe sie zurück aus den Ländern ihrer Feinde, und so beweise ich vor aller Welt, dass ich ein heiliger Gott bin.
Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Nach langer Zeit der Verbannung lasse ich mein Volk wieder in seinem Land wohnen, keiner von ihnen bleibt zurück. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich der HERR, ihr Gott, bin.
