Samaria muss büßen, weil es sich empört hat gegen seinen Gott. Umkommen werden sie durch das Schwert, ihre kleinen Kinder werden zerschmettert, ihre schwangeren Frauen aufgeschlitzt.
Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Kehr um, Israel, zum HERRN, deinem Gott! Denn du bist zu Fall gekommen durch deine Schuld.
Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

Assur kann uns nicht retten, wir wollen nicht mehr auf Pferden reiten und zum Machwerk unserer Hände sagen wir nie mehr: Unser Gott. Denn nur bei dir findet ein Waisenkind Erbarmen.
I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
Ich will ihre Untreue heilen und sie aus freiem Willen wieder lieben. Denn mein Zorn hat sich von Israel abgewandt.
