Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.
Heule, Zypresse! Denn die Zeder ist gefallen, ja, die Mächtigen wurden vernichtet. Heult, ihr Eichen des Baschan, denn der undurchdringliche Wald ist dahingesunken.
There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
Lautes Geheul der Hirten, denn ihr prächtiger Besitz ist vernichtet. Lautes Gebrüll der jungen Löwen, denn der Stolz des Jordan ist vernichtet.
Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
So spricht der HERR, mein Gott: Hüte die Schafe, die geschlachtet werden sollen!
Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
Deren Käufer töten sie, ohne es zu büßen, und deren Verkäufer sagen: Gepriesen sei der HERR, denn ich bin reich geworden. Ihre Hirten aber haben kein Mitleid mit ihnen.
For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
Wahrhaftig, ich habe kein Mitleid mehr mit den Bewohnern des Landes — Spruch des HERRN. Siehe, ich lasse jeden Menschen in die Hand seines Nächsten fallen und in die Hand seines Königs. Sie werden das Land zerschlagen, aber ich werde es nicht aus ihrer Hand retten.
And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
Ich hütete die Schafe, die geschlachtet werden sollten, für die Schafhändler und ich nahm mir zwei Ruten. Die eine nannte ich Noam — Freundlichkeit — , die andere nannte ich Hobelim — Verbundenheit — . So hütete ich die Schafe.
Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
Ich ließ die drei Hirten in einem einzigen Monat verschwinden. Dann verlor ich die Geduld mit ihnen und auch sie wurden meiner überdrüssig.
Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Ich sagte: Ich will euch nicht mehr hüten. Was im Sterben liegt, soll sterben; was sich verloren hat, sei verloren; und von den Übriggebliebenen soll einer des andern Fleisch fressen.
Thirty Pieces of Silver
And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

Dann nahm ich meine Rute Noam — Freundlichkeit — und hieb sie in Stücke, um meinen Bund zu zerbrechen, den ich mit allen Völkern geschlossen hatte.
And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
So wurde er an diesem Tag zerbrochen. Da erkannten die Schafhändler, die mich beobachteten, dass dies ein Wort des HERRN war.
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
Ich sagte zu ihnen: Wenn es recht ist in euren Augen, so bringt mir meinen Lohn, wenn aber nicht, so lasst es! Da wogen sie mir meinen Lohn ab, dreißig Silberstücke.
And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.
Da sagte der HERR zu mir: Wirf ihn dem Schmelzer hin, den wertvollen Preis, den ich ihnen wert bin. Und ich nahm die dreißig Silberstücke und warf sie im Haus des HERRN dem Schmelzer hin.
Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Danach hieb ich meine zweite Rute, Hobelim — Verbundenheit — , in Stücke, um den brüderlichen Bund zwischen Juda und Israel zu zerbrechen.
And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Der HERR sagte zu mir: Nimm dir außerdem das Gerät eines törichten Hirten!
For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
Denn siehe, ich lasse einen Hirten im Land auftreten: Das Vermisste sucht er nicht, dem Jungen geht er nicht nach, das Gebrochene heilt er nicht, das Erschöpfte versorgt er nicht. Stattdessen isst er das Fleisch der Masttiere und reißt ihnen die Klauen ab.
Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Wehe dem nichtsnutzigen Hirten, der die Schafe im Stich lässt! Das Schwert über seinen Arm und über sein rechtes Auge! Sein Arm soll völlig verdorren, sein rechtes Auge soll gänzlich erblinden!
