John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

The Baptism of Jesus

The Temptation of Jesus

Jesus blieb vierzig Tage in der Wüste und wurde vom Satan in Versuchung geführt. Er lebte bei den wilden Tieren und die Engel dienten ihm.
Jesus Preaches in Galilee

und sprach: Die Zeit ist erfüllt, das Reich Gottes ist nahe. Kehrt um und glaubt an das Evangelium!
Jesus Calls His First Disciples

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Da sagte er zu ihnen: Kommt her, mir nach! Ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen.

And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
Als er ein Stück weiterging, sah er Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes; sie waren im Boot und richteten ihre Netze her.
And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
Sogleich rief er sie und sie ließen ihren Vater Zebedäus mit seinen Tagelöhnern im Boot zurück und folgten Jesus nach.
Jesus Expels an Evil Spirit
And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

Sie kamen nach Kafarnaum. Am folgenden Sabbat ging er in die Synagoge und lehrte.
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
Und die Menschen waren voll Staunen über seine Lehre; denn er lehrte sie wie einer, der Vollmacht hat, nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten.
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
In ihrer Synagoge war ein Mensch, der von einem unreinen Geist besessen war. Der begann zu schreien:
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
Was haben wir mit dir zu tun, Jesus von Nazaret? Bist du gekommen, um uns ins Verderben zu stürzen? Ich weiß, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
Da drohte ihm Jesus: Schweig und verlass ihn!
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
Der unreine Geist zerrte den Mann hin und her und verließ ihn mit lautem Geschrei.
And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
Da erschraken alle und einer fragte den andern: Was ist das? Eine neue Lehre mit Vollmacht: Sogar die unreinen Geister gehorchen seinem Befehl.
And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich rasch im ganzen Gebiet von Galiläa.
Jesus Heals at Peter's House
And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Die Schwiegermutter des Simon lag mit Fieber im Bett. Sie sprachen sogleich mit Jesus über sie
And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
und er ging zu ihr, fasste sie an der Hand und richtete sie auf. Da wich das Fieber von ihr und sie diente ihnen.
And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
Am Abend, als die Sonne untergegangen war, brachte man alle Kranken und Besessenen zu Jesus.
And all the city was gathered together at the door.
Die ganze Stadt war vor der Haustür versammelt
And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

Jesus Prays and Preaches

Er antwortete: Lasst uns anderswohin gehen, in die benachbarten Dörfer, damit ich auch dort verkünde; denn dazu bin ich gekommen.
And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
Und er zog durch ganz Galiläa, verkündete in ihren Synagogen und trieb die Dämonen aus.
The Leper's Prayer
And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Jesus hatte Mitleid mit ihm; er streckte die Hand aus, berührte ihn und sagte: Ich will — werde rein!
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
Sogleich verschwand der Aussatz und der Mann war rein.
And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
Jesus schickte ihn weg, wies ihn streng an
And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
und sagte zu ihm: Sieh, dass du niemandem etwas sagst, sondern geh, zeig dich dem Priester und bring für deine Reinigung dar, was Mose festgesetzt hat — ihnen zum Zeugnis.
But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
Der Mann aber ging weg und verkündete bei jeder Gelegenheit, was geschehen war; er verbreitete die Geschichte, sodass sich Jesus in keiner Stadt mehr zeigen konnte; er hielt sich nur noch an einsamen Orten auf. Dennoch kamen die Leute von überallher zu ihm.
