The Leaven of the Pharisees

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Когда собралась многотысячная толпа, так что люди теснили друг друга, Иисус начал говорить сперва Своим ученикам: "Берегитесь фарисейской закваски. Я говорю об их лицемерии.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Нет ничего скрытого, что не открылось бы, и ничего тайного, что не стало бы явным.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Поэтому, что сказано в темноте, будет услышано при свете. И всё, что шёпотом сказано в потайной комнате, будет провозглашено с крыш".

Fearing God Alone

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

"Но говорю вам, друзья Мои, не бойтесь тех, кто убивает тело, ибо они не могут сделать ничего больше этого.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Я скажу вам, кого нужно бояться: Бога, Который имеет власть не только ваше тело погубить, но и душу в ад ввергнуть. Поверьте Мне, вот кого вам следует бояться.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

Разве не продаются пять воробьев за два гроша? И всё же даже они не забыты Богом!

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

А у вас даже все волосы на голове пересчитаны. Не бойтесь, вы стоите больше множества воробьев".

Confessing Christ

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

"Я говорю вам: любого, кто встанет и признает Меня перед людьми, Я, Сын Человеческий, признаю перед ангелами Божьими.

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Но любого, кто встанет и отвергнет Меня перед людьми, и Я отвергну перед ангелами Божьими.

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

И если кто скажет слово против Сына Человеческого, тот может быть прощён. Но, хулящий Святого Духа, прощён не будет.

11

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

И когда вас приведут в синагогу, чтобы вы предстали перед предводителями и другими важными людьми, то не беспокойтесь о том, что говорить сильным и власть имущим,

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

The Parable of the Rich Fool

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

Кто-то из толпы попросил Его: "Учитель, вели брату моему, чтобы он поделил со мной наследство, оставленное нам отцом".

14

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

14

Но Иисус ответил на это: "Человек, кто поставил Меня судить и делить между вами двумя наследство?"

15

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

15

А людям Иисус сказал: "Будьте осторожны и берегитесь жадности во всех её проявлениях, ибо жизнь не зависит от вашего имущества, как бы богаты вы ни были".

16

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

16

И рассказал Он им притчу: "Земля одного богача дала хороший урожай.

17

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

17

И он рассуждал сам с собой: "Что мне делать? Мне негде хранить урожай".

18

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

18

И решил: "Сделаю вот что: снесу все мои амбары и построю большие, и соберу в них всё зерно и всё своё добро.

19

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

19

И я скажу себе: Много добра запасено у тебя на долгие годы. Отдыхай, ешь, пей и веселись!"

20

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

20

Но Бог сказал ему: "Глупец! В эту ночь потребуют у тебя душу твою. Кому же достанется то, что ты заготовил?"

21

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

21

Так всегда бывает с человеком, который копит для себя богатства, но не богат перед Богом".

Do Not Worry

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

22

А Своим ученикам Иисус сказал: "Поэтому Я говорю вам: не заботьтесь ни о вашей жизни, что будете есть, ни о теле вашем, во что одеться,

23

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

23

ибо жизнь важнее пищи, а тело важнее одежды.

24

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

24

Посмотрите на птиц. Они не сеют и не жнут, у них нет ни хранилищ, ни амбаров, но Бог кормит их. А вы достойны много большего, чем птицы!

25

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

25

Никто из вас не продлит жизнь хоть на час бесконечными заботами.

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

26

Если вы самого малого сделать не можете, что заботиться об остальном?

27

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

27

Посмотрите, как растут полевые цветы. Они не трудятся, не прядут; но, говорю вам, даже Соломон во всей своей славе не был одет, как любой из этих цветов.

28

If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Если Бог одевает так траву полевую, которая сегодня живёт, а завтра будет брошена в огонь, то насколько же лучше оденет Он вас, маловерные!

29

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

29

И не ищите, что вам есть и пить, и не тревожьтесь.

30

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

30

Ибо язычники всё время беспокоятся об этом, а ваш Отец знает, что вам всё это нужно.

31

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

31

А потому стремитесь только к Царству Божию, и это всё вам также дано будет.

32

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

32

Не бойся же, паства моя! Ибо Отец ваш хочет дать вам Царство.

33

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

33

Продайте всё, что у вас есть, и отдайте эти деньги бедным. Стремитесь к богатствам непреходящим, сокровищу неисчерпаемому на небесах, где ни вор не может подобраться к нему, ни тлен не может его погубить.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

34

Ибо сердца ваши будут там, где сокровище ваше".

Be Ready for Service

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

35

"Будьте готовы ко всему: пусть одежда будет на вас, и светильники зажжены.

36

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

36

Будьте, как слуги, ожидающие возвращения господина со свадебного пира с тем, чтобы, когда он придёт и постучит в дверь, они могли бы тотчас отворить ему.

37

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Блаженны те слуги, ибо господин увидит, что слуги его наготове и ждут его. Истинно говорю: господин тот наденет на себя простую одежду, а слугам велит сесть за стол и станет прислуживать им.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Этим слугам, может быть, придётся дожидаться его до полуночи или даже позже! Но блаженны они, если господин придёт и застанет их бодрствующими.

39

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

39

Ибо помните, что если бы хозяин дома знал, в какое время придёт вор, то не допустил бы вора в свой дом.

40

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

40

Будьте же и вы готовы, ибо в неожиданный для вас час придёт Сын Человеческий".

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

41

Пётр спросил: "Господи, нам ли только Ты рассказал эту притчу или всем остальным тоже?"

42

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

42

И Господь сказал: "Кто же верный и благоразумный слуга, которого господин поставит над своими другими слугами, чтобы раздать им положенную меру хлеба?

43

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

43

Блажен слуга, которого господин, вернувшись, застанет за этим.

44

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

44

Истинно говорю: он поручит ему управлять своим имением.

45

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

45

Нерадивый же слуга, который говорит себе: "Мой господин вернётся не скоро", начнёт избивать других слуг, есть, пить и напиваться.

46

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Господин того слуги, придя в день и час, когда тот его не ожидает, подвергнет его ужасной смерти и участи непослушных.

47

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

47

Тот слуга, который, зная волю господина своего, не был готов и не сделал, что господин велел, будет жестоко наказан.

48

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Тот же, кто не знал волю своего господина, но сделал то, что заслуживает наказания, будет наказан меньше, чем тот, который знал, что должен сделать. Кому много дано, с того много и спросится, и кому доверено многое, с того больше и взыщется.

Not Peace, But Division

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

49

Я пришёл зажечь огонь на земле, и желал бы, чтобы он уже возгорелся!

50

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

50

Я должен буду принять иное крещение; и как томлюсь Я, ожидая, когда оно свершится!

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

51

Вы думаете, что Я пришёл принести покой в этот мир? Нет, Я пришёл, чтобы принести миру разделение.

52

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

52

Отныне в семье из пятерых человек все будут друг против друга: трое будут против двоих, двое будут против троих,

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

53

отец и сын разделятся: сын против отца и отец против сына; мать и дочь разделятся: дочь против матери и мать против дочери; свекровь и невестка разделятся: невестка против свекрови, и свекровь против невестки".

Interpreting the Present Time

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

И сказал Иисус народу: "Когда вы видите облака, собирающиеся на западе, вы тотчас говорите: "Будет дождь". И дождь вскоре начинается.

55

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

55

Когда дует южный ветер, вы говорите: "Будет жарко". Так и бывает.

56

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

56

Лицемеры! Вы можете распознать лицо земли и неба, как же вы не можете понять этого времени?

Reconciling with Your Adversary

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

58

Когда идёшь в суд с противником своим, постарайся по пути уладить всё миром. Иначе он приведёт тебя к судье, а тот бросит тебя в темницу.

59

I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

59

И не выйдешь оттуда, пока не выплатишь всё до последней копейки".
