Jesus is Our Advocate
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Meine geliebten Kinder, ich schreibe euch dies, damit ihr nicht sündigt. Sollte aber doch jemand Schuld auf sich laden, dann tritt einer beim Vater für uns ein, der selbst ohne jede Sünde ist: Jesus Christus.
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Denn Christus hat unsere Sünden, ja, die Sünden der ganzen Welt auf sich genommen; er hat sie gesühnt.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
Wenn wir uns an Gottes Gebote halten, zeigt uns dies, dass wir Gott kennen.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Wenn jemand behauptet: »Ich kenne Gott«, hält sich aber nicht an seine Gebote, so ist er ein Lügner; die Wahrheit lebt nicht in ihm.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Doch wer sich nach dem richtet, was Gott gesagt hat, bei dem ist Gottes Liebe zum Ziel gekommen. Daran erkennen wir, ob wir wirklich mit ihm verbunden sind.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Wer von sich sagt, dass er zu ihm gehört, der soll auch so leben, wie Jesus gelebt hat.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Was ich euch jetzt schreibe, meine Lieben, ist kein neues Gebot, sondern die Botschaft Gottes, die ihr von Anfang an gehört habt.
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
Und trotzdem ist dieses Gebot neu, weil Christus es verwirklicht hat und ihr jetzt danach lebt. Denn die Finsternis schwindet, und das wahre Licht strahlt schon auf.
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
Wenn nun jemand behauptet, in diesem Licht zu leben, hasst aber seinen Bruder oder seine Schwester, dann lebt er in Wirklichkeit immer noch in der Finsternis.
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
Nur wer seine Geschwister liebt, der lebt wirklich im Licht. An ihm lässt sich nichts Anstößiges finden.
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Wer dagegen seinen Bruder oder seine Schwester hasst, der lebt ganz und gar in der Finsternis und weiß nicht, wohin er geht. Er ist wie ein Blinder und kann nichts sehen, weil die Dunkelheit ihn umgibt.

Dies schreibe ich euch, meine geliebten Kinder, weil ich weiß, dass eure Sünden durch Jesus Christus vergeben sind.

Euch Vätern schreibe ich, weil ihr den kennt, der von Anfang an da war. Ich wende mich aber auch an euch, ihr jungen Leute; denn ihr habt den Teufel besiegt.
I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
Ich will es noch einmal sagen: Euch Kindern schreibe ich, weil ihr den Vater kennt; ebenso wende ich mich an euch Väter, weil ihr den kennt, der von Anfang an da war. Und euch, ihr jungen Leute, schreibe ich, weil ihr im Glauben stark geworden seid. Gottes Wort wohnt in euch, und ihr habt den Teufel besiegt.
Do Not Love the World
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Liebt nicht diese Welt und hängt euer Herz nicht an irgendetwas, das zu dieser Welt gehört. Denn wer die Welt liebt, kann nicht zugleich Gott, den Vater, lieben.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Was gehört nun zum Wesen dieser Welt? Selbstsüchtige Wünsche, die Gier nach allem, was einem ins Auge fällt, das Prahlen mit Wohlstand und Macht. All dies kommt nicht von Gott, unserem Vater, sondern gehört zur Welt.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Die Welt aber mit ihrer Unersättlichkeit wird vergehen. Nur wer tut, was Gott will, wird ewig leben.
Beware of Antichrists
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Das Ende dieser Welt ist nahe, meine geliebten Kinder! Ihre letzte Stunde ist angebrochen. Ihr wisst, dass zu dieser Zeit der Feind von Christus, der Antichrist, kommen wird. Schon jetzt sind viele Antichristen aufgetreten. Daran können wir erkennen, dass die Welt ihrem Ende entgegengeht.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
Diese Feinde von Christus kommen zwar aus unseren eigenen Reihen, in Wirklichkeit aber haben sie nie zu uns gehört. Sonst hätten sie sich nicht von uns getrennt. Nun aber ist für jedermann sichtbar geworden, dass sie gar nicht zu uns gehören.
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
Doch euch hat Christus seinen Heiligen Geist gegeben, und deshalb kennt ihr alle die Wahrheit.
I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Ich schreibe euch also nicht, weil ich meinte, ihr müsstet die Wahrheit erst noch erfahren. Ihr kennt sie sehr gut und wisst auch, dass aus ihr keinerlei Lüge kommen kann.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Wenn nun jemand behauptet, Jesus sei gar nicht der Christus, der von Gott gesandte Retter, muss dieser Mensch nicht der Lügner schlechthin sein? Wer den Vater und den Sohn leugnet, ist ohne jeden Zweifel ein Antichrist.
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Denn wer den Sohn ablehnt, der ist auch nicht mit dem Vater verbunden. Doch wer sich zum Sohn bekennt, der hat auch Gemeinschaft mit dem Vater.
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
Lasst euch also nicht von der Botschaft abbringen, die ihr von Anfang an gehört habt. Wenn sie in euren Herzen bleibt, dann werdet ihr für immer mit Gott, dem Vater, und mit seinem Sohn Jesus Christus verbunden sein.
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
Denn genau das hat Christus uns zugesagt: ewiges Leben in der Verbindung mit ihm.
These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
Das müsst ihr über diese Leute wissen, die euch vom richtigen Weg abbringen wollen.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Doch der Heilige Geist, den euch Christus gegeben hat, er bleibt in euch. Deshalb braucht ihr keine anderen Lehrer, der Heilige Geist selbst ist in allen Fragen euer Lehrer. Was er euch sagt, ist wahr und ohne Lüge. Haltet also an dem fest, was euch der Geist lehrt: Bleibt mit Christus verbunden.

Meine Kinder, lasst euch durch nichts von Christus trennen. Dann werden wir ihm voller Zuversicht entgegengehen und brauchen nicht beschämt zurückzuweichen.
