Children of God

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Подумайте, яку велику любов виявив до нас Отець, щоб могли ми називатися дітьми Божими! І ми справді діти Божі! Тому світ і не знає нас, бо не признав і Його.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Любі друзі, тепер ми діти Божі, та ще невідомо, ким ми станемо у майбутньому. Але ж ми знаємо, що коли Христос з’явиться знову, ми будемо подібні до Нього, бо ми побачимо Його таким, який Він є!

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

3

Кожен, хто надіється на Христа, очищає себе так само, як і Він чистий.

4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Кожен, хто грішить, порушує Закон Божий, бо гріх — це порушення Закону.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Ви знаєте, що Христос прийшов, аби забрати людські гріхи, сам же Він — безгрішний.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Кожен, хто живе у Христі, не може продовжувати грішити, а як хто й продовжує грішити, то значить, що він ніколи не бачив і не знав Його.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Любі діти! Не давайте себе обманювати. Той, хто живе праведно, — праведний, як Христос.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Той же, хто продовжує грішити, належить дияволу, бо диявол грішив від самого початку. На те й з’явився Син Божий, щоб зруйнувати зроблене дияволом.

9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Той, хто став дитям Божим, більше не живе у гріху, бо нове життя, дане Богом, [8] залишається в цій людині. І вже не може він продовжувати грішити, бо став дитям Божим.

10

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Ось як розпізнати, хто є дітьми Божими, а хто дияволовими: кожен, хто не живе праведно і не любить братів і сестер своїх, до Бога не належить.

Love One Another

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Таким є зміст послання, яке ви чули від самого початку, — любіть одне одного.

12

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Не вподібнюйтесь Каїну, який належав лукавому і вбив свого брата. За що ж він убив його? Бо вчинки його були лихі, а братові — праведні.

13

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

13

Браття і сестри, не дивуйтеся, якщо світ ненавидить вас.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Ми знаємо, що перейшли від смерті до життя, бо любимо братів і сестер своїх. Той, хто не любить, залишається мертвим.

15

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

15

Хто ненавидить віруючого брата свого — вбивця, [9] а ви знаєте, що жоден убивця не матиме вічного життя в собі.

16

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Отак пізнали ми, що справжня любов — завдяки Христу, Який віддав Своє життя за нас. Нам також належить віддати життя своє за братів і сестер наших.

17

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Якщо хтось має статки і бачить, що віруючий брат його у нужді, але не має до нього співчуття, то як можна сказати, що любов Божа живе в ньому?

18

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Любі діти! Любов наша повинна бути не тільки словами й розмовами, а й вчинками, що виявляють справжню любов.

19

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

19

І так ми впевнюємося, що належимо до правди. Саме так ми заспокоюємо наші серця перед Богом,

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

20

коли серця наші засуджують нас.[10] Це тому, що Бог величніший за наші серця і знає все.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Любі друзі, якщо серця наші нас не засуджують, то ми без страху наблизимося до Бога.

22

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

22

І ми одержуємо від Всевишнього все, про що просимо, бо виконуємо заповіді Його і діємо догідно Богу.

23

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

23

Ось, що Він нам заповідав: щоб вірували ми в ім’я Сина Його Ісуса Христа і любили одне одного, як Він наказував нам.

24

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
