Children of God

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Подивіться, яку любов дав нам Отець, щоб ми звалися Божими дітьми! І такими ми є. Світ нас не знає, тому що Його не пізнав.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Улюблені! Тепер ми — Божі діти, але ще не виявилося, що будемо. Знаємо, що коли Він з’явиться, ми будемо подібні до Нього, адже побачимо Його таким, який Він є.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

І кожний, хто має цю надію на Нього, очищає себе, як і Він чистий.

4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Кожний, хто чинить гріх, чинить і беззаконня, бо гріх є беззаконням.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

І ви знаєте, що Він з’явився, аби взяти [наші] гріхи, а в Ньому гріха немає.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Кожний, хто в Ньому перебуває, не грішить. Кожний, хто грішить, не бачив Його і не пізнав Його.

7

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Дітоньки, хай ніхто вас не вводить в оману. Хто чинить правду, той праведний, як праведний Він.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Хто чинить гріх, той від диявола, адже диявол грішить від початку. Тому з’явився Божий Син, щоби знищити діла диявола.

9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Кожний, хто народився від Бога, не чинить гріха, бо Його зачаток у ньому перебуває; він не може грішити, оскільки народжений від Бога.

10

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Так виявляються Божі діти і діти диявола: кожний, хто не чинить праведності, той не від Бога, як і той, хто не любить свого брата.

Love One Another

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Адже це та звістка, яку ви чули від початку: щоб ми любили одне одного;

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

не так, як Каїн, котрий був від лукавого й убив свого брата. З якої причини він убив його? Тому що його діла були злі, а діла брата — праведні.

13

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

13

Не дивуйтеся, брати [мої], коли світ вас ненавидить.

14

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

14

Ми знаємо, що ми перейшли від смерті до життя, бо любимо братів. А хто не любить [брата], той перебуває в смерті.

15

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

15

Кожний, хто ненавидить свого брата, той убивця. А ви знаєте, що жодний убивця не має в собі вічного життя, яке б у ньому перебувало.

16

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

16

Ми пізнали любов з того, що Він поклав Свою душу за нас; і ми маємо класти душі за братів.

17

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

17

А хто має багатство світу й бачить, що його брат у нестатках, та зачиняє своє серце від нього, то як же може Божа любов перебувати в такому?

18

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

18

Дітоньки [мої], любімо не словом та язиком, але ділом та правдою!

19

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

19

Із цього довідаємося, що ми від правди, і заспокоїмо перед Ним наше серце,

20

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

20

бо коли звинувачує наше серце, то Бог більший від нашого серця і знає все.

21

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

21

Улюблені, коли наше серце не звинувачує [нас], то маємо сміливість перед Богом,

22

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

22

і чого тільки попросимо, одержимо від Нього, оскільки зберігаємо Його заповіді й робимо те, що Йому до вподоби.

23

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

23

І це Його заповідь, щоб ми повірили в Ім’я Його Сина Ісуса Христа, і любили одне одного, як Він нам заповів.

24

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

24

А хто зберігає Його заповіді, той у Ньому перебуває, а Він — у ньому, а що Він у нас перебуває, дізнаємося від Духа, Якого Він нам дав.
