Faith Brings Peace and Joy

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

1

Отже, виправдавшись вірою, маємо мир з Богом через нашого Господа Ісуса Христа,

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

через Якого ми вірою одержали доступ до тієї благодаті, в якій перебуваємо і хвалимося надією на Божу славу.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

І не лише нею, а й хвалимося, коли страждаємо, знаючи, що страждання виробляє терпеливість,

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

а терпеливість — досвід, а досвід — надію.

5

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Надія ж не засоромлює, адже Божа любов влилася в наші серця через даного нам Святого Духа.

Christ's Sacrifice for the Ungodly

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Бо Христос, коли ми ще були безсилі, у відповідний час помер за нечестивих.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

Навряд чи хто помре за праведного; хіба, може, хтось за доброчинця наважиться померти.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

8

Але Бог виявляє Свою любов до нас тим, що Христос за нас помер, коли ми були ще грішниками.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Тим більше тепер, оправдані Його кров’ю, ми завдяки Йому спасемося від гніву.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Коли, ще бувши ворогами, ми примирилися з Богом смертю Його Сина, тим більше, примирившись, спасемося Його життям.

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

11

І не тільки це, але й хвалимося в Бозі через нашого Господа Ісуса Христа, через Якого ми тепер одержали примирення.

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Бо як через одну людину гріх увійшов у світ, а з гріхом і смерть, так у всіх людей увійшла смерть, тому що всі згрішили.

13

(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

13

Гріх був у світі й до Закону, але гріх не зараховується, коли немає Закону.

14

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Та смерть панувала від Адама до Мойсея і над тими, які не згрішили подібно до переступу Адама, котрий є прообразом майбутнього.

15

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Але дар благодаті не такий, як гріх. Бо якщо через переступ одного багато померло, то наскільки більше благодаттю однієї Людини, Ісуса Христа, Божа благодать і дари щедро вилилися на багатьох.

16

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

16

І дар не такий, як осуд через одного, який згрішив. Бо за переступ одного — осуд, а дар благодаті — для оправдання від багатьох гріхів.

17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

17

Адже коли через переступ одного смерть запанувала через одного, то тим більше ті, хто приймає щедру благодать і дар праведності, запанують у житті через одного Ісуса Христа.

18

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Як через переступ одного на всіх людей прийшов осуд, так і через праведність Одного на всіх людей прийшло оправдання для життя.

19

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

19

Бо як непослухом однієї людини багато стали грішними, так і послухом Одного багато стануть праведними.

20

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Закон увійшов, щоб намножився переступ. А де намножився гріх, там безмірно виявилася благодать.

21

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Щоб так, як гріх запанував через смерть, аби так само й благодать запанувала через праведність для вічного життя через Ісуса Христа, Господа нашого.
