Settle Lawsuits among Believers

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

Як наважується хтось із вас, маючи справу з іншим, судитися в неправедних, а не у святих?

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Хіба ви не знаєте, що святі будуть судити світ? І якщо ви будете судити світ, то чи не є ви гідними судити менші справи?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Чи не знаєте, що ми будемо судити ангелів, а не тільки життєві справи?

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

А ви, маючи життєві судові справи, настановляєте суддями тих, хто нічого не значить у Церкві?

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

На сором вам це кажу. Хіба між вами немає жодного розумного, який міг би розсудити поміж своїми братами?

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

Але брат з братом судиться, та ще й перед невірними!

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Ганебним для вас є вже те, що маєте між собою судові справи. Чому краще не стерпіти кривди? Чому краще не зазнати втрати?

Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

А ви кривдите і обманюєте, і до того ж братів.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Хіба ви не знаєте, що неправедні не успадкують Божого Царства? Не обманюйте себе: ні розпусники, ні ідолопоклонники, ні перелюбники, ні блудники, ні мужоложники,

10

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

ні злодії, ні користолюбці, ні п’яниці, ні наклепники, ні розбійники Божого Царства не успадкують.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

І такими були деякі з вас, але ви обмилися, ви освятилися, ви виправдалися Ім’ям Господа Ісуса Христа і Духом нашого Бога.

Our Bodies are Members of Christ

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Усе мені можна, та не все на користь. Усе мені можна, та ніщо не повинно заволодіти мною.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Їжа для шлунка, і шлунок для їжі, але Бог і одне й друге знищить. Тіло не для розпусти, але для Господа, і Господь для тіла.

14

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

Адже Бог і Господа воскресив, воскресить і нас Своєю силою.

15

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Хіба не знаєте, що ваші тіла є члени Христа? Тож невже, взявши члени Христа, зроблю їх членами розпусниці? Зовсім ні!

16

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

Хіба ви не знаєте, що той, хто єднається з розпусницею, стає з нею одним тілом? Адже сказано: Обоє будуть одним тілом.

17

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

А хто з Господом єднається, стає з Ним одним духом.

The Body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Утікайте від розпусти. Кожний гріх, який тільки чинить людина, є поза тілом. А хто чинить розпусту, той грішить проти власного тіла.

19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Хіба ви не знаєте, що ваші тіла — це храм Святого Духа, Який є у вас і Якого ви маєте від Бога, і що ви не належите самим собі?

20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

20

Адже ви викуплені за ціну. Тому прославляйте Бога у вашому тілі [та у вашому дусі, які належать Богові].
