But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

Über Zeiten und Stunden, Brüder und Schwestern, brauche ich euch nicht zu schreiben.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
Ihr selbst wisst genau, dass der Tag des Herrn kommt wie ein Dieb in der Nacht.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
Während die Menschen sagen: Friede und Sicherheit!, kommt plötzlich Verderben über sie wie die Wehen über eine schwangere Frau und es gibt kein Entrinnen.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ihr aber, Brüder und Schwestern, lebt nicht im Finstern, sodass euch der Tag nicht wie ein Dieb überraschen kann.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Ihr alle seid Söhne des Lichts und Söhne des Tages. Wir gehören nicht der Nacht und nicht der Finsternis.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Darum wollen wir nicht schlafen wie die anderen, sondern wach und nüchtern sein.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
Denn wer schläft, schläft bei Nacht, und wer sich betrinkt, betrinkt sich bei Nacht.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Wir aber, die dem Tag gehören, wollen nüchtern sein und uns rüsten mit dem Panzer des Glaubens und der Liebe und mit dem Helm der Hoffnung auf Rettung.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Denn Gott hat uns nicht für das Gericht seines Zorns bestimmt, sondern dafür, dass wir durch Jesus Christus, unseren Herrn, die Rettung erlangen.
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Er ist für uns gestorben, damit wir vereint mit ihm leben, ob wir nun wachen oder schlafen.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Darum tröstet einander und einer baue den andern auf, wie ihr es schon tut!

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

Wir bitten euch, Brüder und Schwestern: Erkennt die an, die sich unter euch mühen und euch vorstehen im Herrn und euch zurechtweisen!
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
Achtet sie äußerst hoch in Liebe wegen ihres Wirkens! Haltet Frieden untereinander!
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Wir ermahnen euch, Brüder und Schwestern: Weist die zurecht, die ein unordentliches Leben führen, ermutigt die Ängstlichen, nehmt euch der Schwachen an, seid geduldig mit allen!
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
Seht zu, dass keiner dem andern Böses mit Bösem vergilt, sondern bemüht euch immer, einander und allen Gutes zu tun!
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Dankt für alles; denn das ist der Wille Gottes für euch in Christus Jesus.

Er selbst, der Gott des Friedens, heilige euch ganz und gar und bewahre euren Geist, eure Seele und euren Leib unversehrt, damit ihr ohne Tadel seid bei der Ankunft unseres Herrn Jesus Christus.

Gott, der euch beruft, ist treu; er wird es tun.
