A Sabbath-Rest for God's People

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Ибо благовествовали израильтянам, как и нам, но послание, услышанное ими, не принесло им пользы, ибо, услышав его, они не приняли его с верой.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Мы же, уверовавшие, вошли в Его покой. Как сказал Бог: "В гневе Своём Я поклялся: эти люди никогда не войдут в Мой покой". Он сказал это, хотя труд Его был завершён после сотворения мира.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

Ибо в одном месте вот что говорил Он о седьмом дне: "И на седьмой день отдыхал Бог от трудов Своих."

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

И снова там же говорит Он: "Эти люди никогда не войдут в Мой покой".

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

И так как некоторые должны войти в Его покой, а те, кому благую весть возвестили раньше, не вошли в него за непослушание,

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Бог установил определённый день — "сегодня". Много лет спустя Он говорил об этом устами Давида, как уже было сказано: "Если вы сегодня услышите голос Божий, то не упрямьтесь."

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Ибо, если бы Иисус Навин привёл их в покой Божий, то не было бы сказано о другом дне.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Но ещё придёт седьмой день, день отдыха для людей Божьих.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Ибо всякий, кто вступает в покой Божий, отдыхает от трудов своих, как Бог отдыхал от Своих трудов.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Так приложим же все старания, чтобы войти в Его покой и чтобы никто не был лишён его за то, что последовал примеру непокорных.

God's Word is Living and Active

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ибо слово Божье живо и действенно, и оно острее любого меча обоюдоострого. Оно проникает в нас так глубоко, что отделяет душу от духа и суставы от костей. Оно судит наши чувства и помыслы сердца.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

И нет ничего сущего, что скрылось бы от Него, всё обнажено и предстаёт неприкрытым перед взором Того, Кому дадим отчёт.

Jesus the Great High Priest

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

И раз у нас есть Великий Первосвященник, вознёсшийся на небеса, Иисус, Сын Божий, давайте твердо придерживаться веры, которую исповедуем.

15

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Ибо наш Первосвященник может понять нашу слабость: ведь когда Он жил на земле, то был искушаем так же, как и мы, но не согрешил.

16

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Имея такого Первосвященника, мы вольны приблизиться к Божьему престолу благодатному, дабы получить благодать и обрести милосердие, которые помогут нам во времена испытаний.
