Solomon Worships at Gibeon

Salomo, der Sohn Davids, gewann Macht in seinem Königtum, der HERR, sein Gott, war mit ihm und ließ ihn überaus stark werden.
Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and to the judges and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ households.
Er sprach mit ganz Israel, den Obersten der Tausend- und Hundertschaften, den Richtern, mit allen Fürsten aus ganz Israel und mit den Häuptern der Großfamilien.
Then Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place which was at Gibeon, for God’s tent of meeting was there, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
Dann ging er mit der ganzen Versammlung, die bei ihm war, zur Kulthöhe von Gibeon; denn hier war das Offenbarungszelt Gottes, das Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, in der Wüste angefertigt hatte.
However, David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
Die Lade Gottes jedoch hatte David aus Kirjat-Jearim an den Ort bringen lassen, den er für sie hergerichtet hatte. Er hatte nämlich in Jerusalem ein Zelt für sie aufgestellt.
Now the bronze altar, which Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of the LORD, and Solomon and the assembly sought it out.
Der bronzene Altar, den Bezalel, der Sohn Uris und Enkel Hurs, gemacht hatte, stand in Gibeon vor der Wohnung des HERRN. Ihn suchten Salomo und die ganze Versammlung Israels auf.
Solomon went up there before the LORD to the bronze altar which was at the tent of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.
Salomo stieg dort auf den bronzenen Altar vor dem HERRN beim Offenbarungszelt und brachte auf ihm tausend Brandopfer dar.
In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”
In jener Nacht erschien Gott dem Salomo und forderte ihn auf: Sprich eine Bitte aus, die ich dir gewähren soll!
Solomon’s Prayer for Wisdom
Solomon said to God, “You have dealt with my father David with great lovingkindness, and have made me king in his place.
Salomo antwortete Gott: Du hast meinem Vater David große Huld erwiesen und mich an seiner Stelle zum König gemacht.
“Now, O LORD God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
So möge sich nun, mein Herr und GOTT, dein Wort an meinen Vater David als wahr erweisen; denn du hast mich zum König gemacht über ein Volk, das zahlreich ist wie der Staub der Erde.
“Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?”
Verleih mir daher Weisheit und Einsicht, damit ich weiß, wie ich mich vor diesem Volk verhalten soll! Denn wer könnte sonst dieses mächtige Volk regieren?
God said to Solomon, “Because you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king,
Gott antwortete Salomo: Weil dir das am Herzen liegt, weil du nicht um Reichtum, Vermögen, Ehre oder um den Tod deiner Feinde, auch nicht um langes Leben gebeten hast, sondern weil du um Weisheit und Einsicht gebeten hast, um mein Volk zu regieren, zu dessen König ich dich bestellt habe,
wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor those who will come after you.”
sollen dir Weisheit und Einsicht zuteilwerden. Aber auch Reichtum, Vermögen und Ehre will ich dir geben, wie sie kein König vor dir erlangt hat und auch nach dir keiner haben wird.
So Solomon went from the high place which was at Gibeon, from the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem, and he reigned over Israel.
Da kam Salomo von der Kulthöhe in Gibeon, vom Offenbarungszelt, nach Jerusalem und herrschte über Israel.
Solomon’s Wealth
Solomon amassed chariots and horsemen. He had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
Salomo beschaffte sich Wagen und die Besatzung dazu. Er hatte vierzehnhundert Wagen und zwölftausend Mann als Besatzung und brachte sie in die Wagenstädte sowie in die Umgebung des Königs nach Jerusalem.
The king made silver and gold as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as plentiful as sycamores in the lowland.
Der König machte das Silber und das Gold in Jerusalem so häufig wie die Steine und die Zedern so zahlreich wie die Maulbeerfeigenbäume in der Schefela.
Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue; the king’s traders procured them from Kue for a price.
Man bezog die Pferde für Salomo aus Ägypten und Koë. Die Händler des Königs kauften sie in Koë.
They imported chariots from Egypt for 600 shekels of silver apiece and horses for 150 apiece, and by the same means they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram.
Einen Wagen brachten sie aus Ägypten für sechshundert und ein Pferd für hundertfünfzig Silberschekel. Ebenso trieb man Handel mit allen hetitischen und aramäischen Königen.
