King James Bible

  • O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly;
    My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,
    In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
  • Thirsting for God

    {A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.} O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
  • Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary,
    To see Your power and Your glory.
  • To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
  • Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
    My lips will praise You.
  • Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
  • So I will bless You as long as I live;
    I will lift up my hands in Your name.
  • Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
  • My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
    And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
  • My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
  • When I remember You on my bed,
    I meditate on You in the night watches,
  • When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
  • For You have been my help,
    And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
  • Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
  • My soul clings to You;
    Your right hand upholds me.
  • My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
  • But those who seek my life to destroy it,
    Will go into the depths of the earth.
  • But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
  • They will be delivered over to the power of the sword;
    They will be a prey for foxes.
  • They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
  • But the king will rejoice in God;
    Everyone who swears by Him will glory,
    For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
  • But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
