Help Not in Egypt but in God
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help
And rely on horses,
And trust in chariots because they are many
And in horsemen because they are very strong,
But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD!

Wehe denen, die nach Ägypten gehen, um Hilfe zu holen! Sie setzen ihre Hoffnung auf Pferde, sie vertrauen auf die unzähligen Streitwagen und die starken Reitertruppen. Den heiligen Gott Israels aber lassen sie außer Acht, den HERRN bitten sie nicht um Hilfe.

Die Ägypter sind doch nur Menschen und nicht Gott; ihre Pferde sind aus Fleisch und Blut und haben keine göttliche Kraft. Der HERR braucht nur drohend seine Hand zu erheben, schon stolpert der Helfer, der Hilfesuchende stürzt, und alle beide kommen um.

Der HERR hat mir gesagt: »Ein junger Löwe verteidigt knurrend seine Beute. Er lässt sich nicht einschüchtern vom Geschrei der vielen Hirten, die ihm das Schaf wieder entreißen wollen. Genauso furchtlos werde ich, der allmächtige Gott, auf den Berg Zion herabkommen und um Jerusalem kämpfen.
