The Coming Messiah: the Righteous Branch
“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares the LORD.

Weh den Hirten, die die Schafe meiner Weide zugrunde richten und zerstreuen — Spruch des HERRN.
Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the LORD.
Darum — so spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, über die Hirten, die mein Volk weiden: Ihr habt meine Schafe zerstreut und sie versprengt und habt euch nicht um sie gekümmert. Jetzt kümmere ich mich bei euch um die Bosheit eurer Taten — Spruch des HERRN.
“Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply.
Ich selbst aber sammle den Rest meiner Schafe aus allen Ländern, wohin ich sie versprengt habe. Ich bringe sie zurück auf ihre Weide und sie werden fruchtbar sein und sich vermehren.
“I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the LORD.
Ich werde für sie Hirten erwecken, die sie weiden, und sie werden sich nicht mehr fürchten und ängstigen und nicht mehr verloren gehen — Spruch des HERRN.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch;
And He will reign as king and act wisely
And do justice and righteousness in the land.

Siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da werde ich für David einen gerechten Spross erwecken. Er wird als König herrschen und weise handeln und Recht und Gerechtigkeit üben im Land.
“In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell securely;
And this is His name by which He will be called,
‘The LORD our righteousness.’

In seinen Tagen wird Juda gerettet werden, Israel kann in Sicherheit wohnen. Man wird ihm den Namen geben: Der HERR ist unsere Gerechtigkeit.
“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,’
Darum siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da sagt man nicht mehr: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Söhne Israels aus dem Land Ägypten heraufgeführt hat!,
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”
sondern: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Nachkommen des Hauses Israel aus dem Nordland und aus allen Ländern, in die er sie verstoßen hatte, heraufgeführt und zurückgebracht hat! Dann werden sie auf ihrem eigenen Boden wohnen.
False Prophets Denounced
As for the prophets:
My heart is broken within me,
All my bones tremble;
I have become like a drunken man,
Even like a man overcome with wine,
Because of the LORD
And because of His holy words.
Über die Propheten: Mir bricht mein Herz in meinem Inneren, alle meine Glieder zittern. Wie ein Betrunkener bin ich, wie ein Mann, den der Wein überwältigt hat, wegen des HERRN und seiner heiligen Worte:
For the land is full of adulterers;
For the land mourns because of the curse.
The pastures of the wilderness have dried up.
Their course also is evil
And their might is not right.

Voll von Ehebrechern ist das Land; ja, wegen des Fluches vertrocknet das Land, sind die Weideplätze der Steppe verdorrt. Bosheit ist ihr Ziel, Unrecht ihre Stärke.
“For both prophet and priest are polluted;
Even in My house I have found their wickedness,” declares the LORD.

Sogar Prophet und Priester sind ruchlose Frevler, selbst in meinem Haus stoße ich auf ihre Bosheit — Spruch des HERRN.
“Therefore their way will be like slippery paths to them,
They will be driven away into the gloom and fall down in it;
For I will bring calamity upon them,
The year of their punishment,” declares the LORD.

Deshalb wird ihr Weg für sie wie ein schlüpfriger Pfad; sie stürzen in der Finsternis, sie kommen darin zu Fall. Denn Unheil bringe ich über sie, das Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung — Spruch des HERRN.
“Moreover, among the prophets of Samaria I saw an offensive thing:
They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray.

Zwar habe ich bei Samarias Propheten Anstößiges gesehen: Sie prophezeiten im Namen des Baal und verführten mein Volk Israel.
“Also among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing:
The committing of adultery and walking in falsehood;
And they strengthen the hands of evildoers,
So that no one has turned back from his wickedness.
All of them have become to Me like Sodom,
And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

Aber bei den Propheten Jerusalems sah ich Grauenhaftes: Sie brechen die Ehe, gehen mit Lügen um und bestärken die Bösen, sodass keiner umkehrt von seiner Bosheit. Für mich sind sie alle wie Sodom und die in Jerusalem wohnen, sind für mich wie Gomorra.
“Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets,
‘Behold, I am going to feed them wormwood
And make them drink poisonous water,
For from the prophets of Jerusalem
Pollution has gone forth into all the land.’”

Darum — so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen gegen die Propheten: Ich gebe ihnen Wermut zu essen und Giftwasser zu trinken; denn von den Propheten Jerusalems ist Gottlosigkeit ausgegangen ins ganze Land.
Thus says the LORD of hosts,
“Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you.
They are leading you into futility;
They speak a vision of their own imagination,
Not from the mouth of the LORD.

So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Hört nicht auf die Worte der Propheten, die euch prophezeien! Sie betören euch nur; sie verkünden Visionen, die aus dem eigenen Herzen stammen, nicht aus dem Mund des HERRN.
“They keep saying to those who despise Me,
‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace”’;
And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart,
They say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’

Immerzu sagen sie denen, die mich verachten: Der HERR hat geredet: Das Heil ist euch sicher!; und jedem, der der Verstocktheit seines Herzens folgt, versprechen sie: Kein Unheil kommt über euch.
“But who has stood in the council of the LORD,
That he should see and hear His word?
Who has given heed to His word and listened?
That he should see and hear His word?

Doch wer hat an der Ratsversammlung des HERRN teilgenommen, dass er sah und sein Wort hörte? Wer achtete auf sein Wort und hörte es?
“Behold, the storm of the LORD has gone forth in wrath,
Even a whirling tempest;
It will swirl down on the head of the wicked.

Siehe, der Sturm des HERRN, sein Grimm, bricht los. Ein Wirbelsturm braust hinweg über die Köpfe der Frevler.
“The anger of the LORD will not turn back
Until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart;
In the last days you will clearly understand it.

Der Zorn des HERRN hört nicht auf, bis er die Pläne seines Herzens ausgeführt und vollbracht hat. Am Ende der Tage werdet ihr es ganz begreifen.
“I did not send these prophets,
But they ran.
I did not speak to them,
But they prophesied.

Ich habe diese Propheten nicht ausgesandt, dennoch laufen sie; ich habe nicht zu ihnen gesprochen, dennoch weissagen sie.
“But if they had stood in My council,
Then they would have announced My words to My people,
And would have turned them back from their evil way
And from the evil of their deeds.

Hätten sie an meiner Ratsversammlung teilgenommen, so könnten sie meinem Volk meine Worte verkünden und es zur Umkehr bewegen von seinem schlechten Weg und von der Bosheit seiner Taten.
“Am I a God who is near,” declares the LORD,
“And not a God far off?

Bin ich nur ein Gott aus der Nähe — Spruch des HERRN — und nicht auch ein Gott aus der Ferne?
“Can a man hide himself in hiding places
So I do not see him?” declares the LORD.
“Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.

Kann sich einer in Schlupfwinkeln verstecken, sodass ich ihn nicht sähe? — Spruch des HERRN. Fülle ich nicht Himmel und Erde aus? — Spruch des HERRN.
“I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsely in My name, saying, ‘I had a dream, I had a dream!’
Ich habe gehört, was die Propheten reden, die in meinem Namen Lügen prophezeien und sprechen: Einen Traum habe ich gehabt, einen Traum.
“How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart,
Wie lange noch? Was haben sie im Sinn, die Propheten, die Lügen prophezeien und selbst erdachten Betrug?
who intend to make My people forget My name by their dreams which they relate to one another, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal?
Wollen sie meinen Namen bei meinem Volk in Vergessenheit bringen durch ihre Träume, die sie einander erzählen, wie ihre Väter meinen Namen wegen des Baal vergessen haben?
“The prophet who has a dream may relate his dream, but let him who has My word speak My word in truth. What does straw have in common with grain?” declares the LORD.
Der Prophet, der einen Traum hat, erzähle seinen Traum; wer aber mein Wort hat, der verkünde mein Wort in Wahrheit! Was hat das Stroh mit dem Korn zu tun? — Spruch des HERRN.
“Is not My word like fire?” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?
Ist nicht mein Wort so: wie Feuer — Spruch des HERRN — und wie ein Hammer, der Felsen zerschmettert?
“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the LORD, “who steal My words from each other.
Darum, siehe, gehe ich gegen die Propheten vor — Spruch des HERRN — , die einander meine Worte stehlen.
“Behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the LORD, “who use their tongues and declare, ‘The Lord declares.’
Siehe, ich gehe gegen die Propheten vor — Spruch des HERRN — , die ihre Zunge gebrauchen, um Sprüche zu machen.
“Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams,” declares the LORD, “and related them and led My people astray by their falsehoods and reckless boasting; yet I did not send them or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit,” declares the LORD.
Siehe, ich gehe gegen die Propheten der Lügenträume vor — Spruch des HERRN — ; sie erzählen Träume und verführen mein Volk durch ihre Lügen und ihr freches Geschwätz. Ich aber habe sie weder gesandt noch beauftragt und sie sind diesem Volk ganz unnütz — Spruch des HERRN.
“Now when this people or the prophet or a priest asks you saying, ‘What is the oracle of the LORD?’ then you shall say to them, ‘What oracle?’ The LORD declares, ‘I will abandon you.’
Fragt dich dieses Volk oder ein Prophet oder ein Priester: Was ist der Last-Spruch des HERRN?, so antworte ihnen: Ihr selbst seid die Last und ich werfe euch ab — Spruch des HERRN.
“Then as for the prophet or the priest or the people who say, ‘The oracle of the LORD,’ I will bring punishment upon that man and his household.
Den Propheten aber, den Priester und das Volk, jeden, der sagt: Last-Spruch des HERRN, den suche ich heim samt seinem Haus — Spruch des HERRN.
“Thus will each of you say to his neighbor and to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ or, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
Vielmehr sollt ihr so zueinander und untereinander sagen: Was hat der HERR geantwortet? oder: Was hat der HERR geredet?
“For you will no longer remember the oracle of the LORD, because every man’s own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.
Aber an den Ausdruck Last-Spruch des HERRN sollt ihr nicht mehr denken. Denn die Last ist für jeden sein eigenes Wort, weil ihr die Worte des lebendigen Gottes, des HERRN der Heerscharen, unseres Gottes, verdreht habt.
“Thus you will say to that prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
So soll man zum Propheten sagen: Was hat der HERR dir geantwortet? oder: Was hat der HERR gesagt?
“For if you say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ surely thus says the LORD, ‘Because you said this word, “The oracle of the LORD!” I have also sent to you, saying, “You shall not say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’”’
Wenn ihr aber Last-Spruch des HERRN sagt, so sagt der HERR darauf: Weil ihr dieses Wort Last-Spruch des HERRN gebraucht, obwohl ich euch verbieten ließ, Last-Spruch des HERRN zu sagen,
“Therefore behold, I will surely forget you and cast you away from My presence, along with the city which I gave you and your fathers.
darum hebe ich euch empor und werfe euch ab samt der Stadt, die ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe, weg von meinem Angesicht.
