The Nations to Submit to Nebuchadnezzar
In the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying —

Als Zedekia, der Sohn von Josia, die Herrschaft über Juda angetreten hatte, empfing ich eine Botschaft vom HERRN.
thus says the LORD to me — “Make for yourself bonds and yokes and put them on your neck,
Der HERR sprach zu mir: »Fertige dir ein Joch aus Holz an, binde die Stangen mit Lederriemen zusammen und leg dir das Joch auf den Nacken!
and send word to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the sons of Ammon, to the king of Tyre and to the king of Sidon by the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
Dann geh damit zu den Gesandten der Könige von Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyrus und Sidon, die gerade bei König Zedekia in Jerusalem sind!
“Command them to go to their masters, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, thus you shall say to your masters,
Sie sollen ihren Königen diese Botschaft von mir ausrichten: So spricht der HERR, der allmächtige Gott Israels:
“I have made the earth, the men and the beasts which are on the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.
Ich habe mit meiner starken Hand und großen Macht die Erde geschaffen, die Menschen und die Tiere, die auf ihr leben. Ich lasse über sie herrschen, wen ich will!
“Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have given him also the wild animals of the field to serve him.
Alle eure Länder gebe ich in die Gewalt von Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babylonien, der mein Diener ist. Selbst die wilden Tiere sind seiner Macht unterworfen.
“All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.
Alle Völker werden ihm und später seinem Sohn und Enkel dienen müssen, so lange, bis ich auch der Herrschaft der Babylonier ein Ende setze. Dann werden mächtige Könige aus anderen Ländern kommen und sich das babylonische Reich untertan machen.
“It will be, that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine and with pestilence,” declares the LORD, “until I have destroyed it by his hand.
Doch wenn sich jetzt ein Volk oder Königreich nicht unter Nebukadnezars Joch beugen will und seine Herrschaft nicht anerkennt, dann lasse ich Krieg, Hungersnot und Seuchen über dieses Land kommen, bis Nebukadnezar es ganz erobert hat! Darauf gebe ich, der HERR, mein Wort.
“But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your soothsayers or your sorcerers who speak to you, saying, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’
Ihr Könige, hört nicht auf eure Propheten, Wahrsager und Traumdeuter, auf eure Geisterbeschwörer und Magier, die euch weismachen wollen, ihr müsstet dem König von Babylonien nicht dienen!
“For they prophesy a lie to you in order to remove you far from your land; and I will drive you out and you will perish.
Was sie euch erzählen, ist nichts als Lüge, und wenn ihr auf sie hört, werdet ihr eure Heimat verlassen müssen, ja, ich selbst vertreibe euch dann, und ihr kommt dabei um.
“But the nation which will bring its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let remain on its land,” declares the LORD, “and they will till it and dwell in it.”’”
Doch wer sich unter Nebukadnezars Joch beugt und ihm dient, dessen Volk lasse ich in seiner Heimat bleiben, damit es das Land bebauen und darin leben kann. Das verspreche ich, der HERR.«
I spoke words like all these to Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, “Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him and his people, and live!
Dann ging ich auch zu König Zedekia und wiederholte meine Warnungen: »Du und dein Volk, beugt euch dem König von Babylonien, unterwerft euch ihm und den Babyloniern, dann bleibt ihr am Leben!
“Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, famine and pestilence, as the LORD has spoken to that nation which will not serve the king of Babylon?
Oder willst du, dass dein Volk mit dir im Krieg umkommt, verhungert oder an Seuchen stirbt? Denn diese Folgen hat der HERR jedem Land angedroht, das sich nicht dem König von Babylonien unterwirft.
“So do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they prophesy a lie to you;
Hört nicht auf eure Propheten, die euch weismachen wollen, ihr müsstet Nebukadnezars Herrschaft nicht anerkennen! Was sie euch sagen, ist nichts als Lüge!
for I have not sent them,” declares the LORD, “but they prophesy falsely in My name, in order that I may drive you out and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.”
So spricht der HERR: Ich habe diese Propheten nicht zu euch gesandt; sie erzählen euch Lügen und berufen sich dabei auch noch auf mich! Wenn ihr auf sie hört, werde ich euch vertreiben, und ihr werdet umkommen, ihr und diese Propheten, die euch nur täuschen wollen!«
Then I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, “Thus says the LORD: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Behold, the vessels of the LORD’S house will now shortly be brought again from Babylon’; for they are prophesying a lie to you.
Dann wandte ich mich an die Priester und an das ganze Volk: »So spricht der HERR: Hört nicht auf eure Propheten, wenn sie euch weismachen, die Gegenstände aus dem Tempel würden bald von Babylon nach Jerusalem zurückgebracht werden! Sie belügen euch.
“Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city become a ruin?
Hört nicht auf sie! Unterwerft euch Nebukadnezar, dann bleibt ihr am Leben! Oder wollt ihr, dass er diese Stadt zu einer Trümmerstätte macht?
“But if they are prophets, and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them now entreat the LORD of hosts that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.
Wenn eure Propheten wirklich Propheten wären, zu denen ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott, spreche, dann würden sie zu mir beten. Sie würden mich darum bitten, dass die übrigen wertvollen Gegenstände, die es noch im Tempel, im Königspalast oder anderswo in Jerusalem gibt, nicht auch nach Babylon gebracht werden.
“For thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the stands and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city,
Noch sind sie hier, die Bronzesäulen, das große Wasserbecken, die Kesselwagen sowie die übrigen Tempelgefäße und -werkzeuge.
which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.
Nebukadnezar hat sie nicht mitgenommen, als er den judäischen König Jojachin, den Sohn von Jojakim, mit den führenden Männern von Jerusalem und Juda nach Babylonien verschleppen ließ.
“Yes, thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the LORD and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem,
Aber ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott Israels, sage euch: Alle wertvollen Gegenstände, die noch im Tempel, im Königspalast oder anderswo in Jerusalem zurückgeblieben sind,
‘They will be carried to Babylon and they will be there until the day I visit them,’ declares the LORD. ‘Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.’”
werden auch nach Babylon gebracht. Dort bleiben sie, bis ich mich wieder ihrer annehme, ja, bis ich sie zurückholen und wieder hierher nach Jerusalem bringen lasse. Darauf gebe ich, der HERR, mein Wort.«
