Vision of God’s Glory Departing from the Temple
Then I looked, and behold, in the expanse that was over the heads of the cherubim something like a sapphire stone, in appearance resembling a throne, appeared above them.

Und ich sah, siehe da: Oberhalb des Gewölbes über dem Haupt der Kerubim war etwas wie Lapislazuli; etwas, das aussah wie die Gestalt eines Throns, war über ihnen zu sehen.
And He spoke to the man clothed in linen and said, “Enter between the whirling wheels under the cherubim and fill your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” And he entered in my sight.
Er sprach zu dem Mann, der in ein leinenes Gewand gekleidet war. Er sagte: Geh zwischen die Räder unter dem Kerub! Fülle deine Hände mit den glühenden Kohlen, die zwischen den Kerubim sind, und streu sie über die Stadt! Und vor meinen Augen ging er hinein.
Now the cherubim were standing on the right side of the temple when the man entered, and the cloud filled the inner court.
Die Kerubim standen rechts vom Tempel, als der Mann zu ihnen ging, und die Wolke erfüllte den inneren Vorhof.
Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub to the threshold of the temple, and the temple was filled with the cloud and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the LORD.
Die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erhob sich vom Kerub hinüber zur Schwelle des Tempels. Der Tempel wurde von der Wolke erfüllt und der Vorhof war erfüllt vom Glanz der Herrlichkeit des HERRN.
Moreover, the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when He speaks.
Das Rauschen der Flügel der Kerubim war bis zum äußeren Vorhof hinaus zu hören; es war wie die Stimme Gottes, des Allmächtigen, wenn er spricht.
It came about when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, “Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim,” he entered and stood beside a wheel.
Und es geschah, als er dem Mann, der in ein leinenes Gewand gekleidet war, seinen Befehl gab und sprach: Nimm vom Feuer, das zwischen den Rädern und zwischen den Kerubim ist!, da ging dieser und stellte sich neben das Rad.
Then the cherub stretched out his hand from between the cherubim to the fire which was between the cherubim, took some and put it into the hands of the one clothed in linen, who took it and went out.
Da streckte ein Kerub seine Hand mitten aus den Kerubim hervor zu dem Feuer hin, das zwischen den Kerubim war, hob daraus Feuerkohlen auf und legte sie in die Hände des Mannes, der in ein leinenes Gewand gekleidet war. Der nahm davon und ging hinaus.
The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man’s hand under their wings.
Da war bei den Kerubim etwas zu sehen, das die Form einer Menschenhand hatte.
Then I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside each cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was like the gleam of a Tarshish stone.
Und ich schaute und siehe: Vier Räder waren neben den Kerubim, ein Rad neben jedem Kerub, je ein Rad neben je einem Kerub. Die Räder sahen aus wie glänzender Chrysolithstein.
As for their appearance, all four of them had the same likeness, as if one wheel were within another wheel.
Alle vier sahen gleich aus und es schien so, als laufe ein Rad mitten im andern.
When they moved, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went; but they followed in the direction which they faced, without turning as they went.
Sie konnten nach allen vier Seiten laufen, und wenn sie gingen, brauchten sie sich nicht umzuwenden; denn der Richtung, die das vordere Rad einschlug, folgten die anderen. Sie brauchten sich nicht umzuwenden, wenn sie gingen.
Their whole body, their backs, their hands, their wings and the wheels were full of eyes all around, the wheels belonging to all four of them.
Ihr ganzer Leib, ihr Rücken, ihre Hände und ihre Flügel und auch die Räder: Sie waren ringsum voller Augen bei allen vieren.
The wheels were called in my hearing, the whirling wheels.
Die Räder wurden, wie ich mit eigenen Ohren hörte, Wirbel genannt.
And each one had four faces. The first face was the face of a cherub, the second face was the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
Vier Gesichter hatte jeder Kerub. Das Gesicht des ersten war ein Kerubgesicht und das Gesicht des zweiten ein Menschengesicht. Der dritte hatte ein Löwengesicht und der vierte ein Adlergesicht.
Then the cherubim rose up. They are the living beings that I saw by the river Chebar.
Und die Kerubim erhoben sich. Dies war das Lebewesen, das ich am Fluss Kebar gesehen hatte.
Now when the cherubim moved, the wheels would go beside them; also when the cherubim lifted up their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels would not turn from beside them.
Wenn die Kerubim gingen, dann liefen die Räder an ihrer Seite mit. Auch wenn die Kerubim ihre Flügel bewegten, um sich von der Erde zu erheben, wandten sich die Räder nicht ab von ihrer Seite.
When the cherubim stood still, the wheels would stand still; and when they rose up, the wheels would rise with them, for the spirit of the living beings was in them.
Blieben jene stehen, dann standen diese still. Hoben sich jene empor, dann hoben sie sich mit ihnen; denn der Geist des Lebewesens war in ihnen.
Then the glory of the LORD departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim.
Da zog die Herrlichkeit des HERRN aus, weg von der Schwelle des Tempels und blieb auf den Kerubim stehen.
When the cherubim departed, they lifted their wings and rose up from the earth in my sight with the wheels beside them; and they stood still at the entrance of the east gate of the LORD’S house, and the glory of the God of Israel hovered over them.
Die Kerubim hoben ihre Flügel und sie stiegen vor meinen Augen von der Erde auf, als sie auszogen, und die Räder liefen an ihrer Seite mit. Und sie stellten sich an den Eingang des östlichen Tores am Haus des HERRN. Und die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels war von oben her über ihnen.
These are the living beings that I saw beneath the God of Israel by the river Chebar; so I knew that they were cherubim.
Dies war das Lebewesen, das ich unterhalb der Gottheit Israels am Fluss Kebar gesehen hatte, und ich erkannte, dass es Kerubim waren.
Each one had four faces and each one four wings, and beneath their wings was the form of human hands.
Je vier Gesichter hatte jeder und vier Flügel ein jeder. Unter ihren Flügeln hatten sie etwas, das wie Menschenhände aussah.
As for the likeness of their faces, they were the same faces whose appearance I had seen by the river Chebar. Each one went straight ahead.
Was die Gestalt ihrer Gesichter angeht: Es waren die Gesichter, die ich am Fluss Kebar gesehen hatte. Ihr Aussehen und sie selbst: Jeder ging nach der Seite seines Angesichts hin.
