Idolatrous Elders Condemned
Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.
Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.
Es kamen Männer von den Ältesten Israels zu mir und setzten sich vor mir nieder.
“Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all?
Menschensohn, diese Männer haben ihre Götzen in ihrem Herzen aufsteigen lassen, den Stein des Anstoßes für ihre Schuld haben sie vor sich aufgestellt. Soll ich mich da von ihnen befragen lassen?
“Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Any man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be brought to give him an answer in the matter in view of the multitude of his idols,
Darum sprich mit ihnen und sag zu ihnen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Jeder Einzelne aus dem Haus Israel, der seine Götzen in seinem Herzen aufsteigen lässt und der den Stein des Anstoßes für seine Schuld vor sich aufstellt und dann zum Propheten kommt: Ich selbst, der HERR, werde dem, der mit seinen vielen Götzen zu mir kommt, antworten,
in order to lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who are estranged from Me through all their idols.”’
um die vom Haus Israel am Herzen zu fassen, weil sie alle sich um ihrer Götzen willen von mir abgewandt haben.
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
Darum sag zum Haus Israel: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Kehrt um! Verlasst eure Götzen und wendet euer Gesicht ab von all euren Gräueltaten!
“For anyone of the house of Israel or of the immigrants who stay in Israel who separates himself from Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me for himself, I the LORD will be brought to answer him in My own person.
Denn jeder Einzelne aus dem Haus Israel oder aus den in Israel lebenden Fremden, der sich von mir abwendet, der seine Götzen in seinem Herzen aufsteigen lässt und den Stein des Anstoßes für seine Schuld vor sich aufstellt und dann zum Propheten kommt, um mich für sich zu befragen: Ich selbst, der HERR, werde ihm antworten.
“I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from among My people. So you will know that I am the LORD.
Ich richte mein Angesicht gegen diesen Mann und mache ihn zum Zeichen und zum Sprichwort, ich merze ihn aus der Mitte meines Volkes aus. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
“But if the prophet is prevailed upon to speak a word, it is I, the LORD, who have prevailed upon that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.
Wenn der Prophet sich jedoch zum Toren machen lässt und ein Gotteswort spricht, dann mache ich selbst, der HERR, diesen Propheten zum Toren und ich werde meine Hand gegen ihn ausstrecken und ihn aus der Mitte meines Volkes Israel tilgen.
“They will bear the punishment of their iniquity; as the iniquity of the inquirer is, so the iniquity of the prophet will be,
Sie werden ihre Schuld tragen müssen; wie die Schuld dessen, der mich befragt, so wird die Schuld des Propheten sein,
in order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions. Thus they will be My people, and I shall be their God,”’ declares the Lord GOD.”
damit die vom Haus Israel nicht mehr von mir weg in die Irre gehen und sich nicht länger durch all ihre Frevel unrein machen. Sie werden mir Volk sein und ich werde ihnen Gott sein — Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn.
The City Will Not Be Spared
Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
Das Wort des HERRN erging an mich:
“Son of man, if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it and cut off from it both man and beast,
Menschensohn, wenn sich ein Land gegen mich versündigt und mir die Treue bricht und wenn ich dann meine Hand gegen es ausstrecke, ihm den Brotstab zerbreche, den Hunger dahinschicke und Mensch und Tier aus ihm ausmerze
even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves,” declares the Lord GOD.
und wenn in seiner Mitte diese drei Männer wären: Noach, Daniel und Ijob, nur sie würden um ihrer Gerechtigkeit willen ihr Leben retten — Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn.
“If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts,
Oder wenn ich wilde Tiere gegen das Land loslasse, die es entvölkern, sodass es zur Wüste wird und angesichts der wilden Tiere niemand mehr hindurchzieht,
though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the country would be desolate.
und wenn diese drei Männer in seiner Mitte wären — so wahr ich lebe, Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn: weder Söhne noch Töchter würden sie retten. Nur sich selbst könnten sie retten, das Land aber würde zur Wüste werden.
“Or if I should bring a sword on that country and say, ‘Let the sword pass through the country and cut off man and beast from it,’
Oder wenn ich das Schwert über dieses Land bringe und sage: Ein Schwert soll durch das Land fahren, ich will Mensch und Tier aus ihm ausmerzen!
even though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be delivered.
und wenn diese drei Männer in seiner Mitte wären — so wahr ich lebe, Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn: weder Söhne noch Töchter könnten sie retten, sondern nur sich selbst könnten sie retten.
“Or if I should send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath in blood on it to cut off man and beast from it,
Oder wenn ich die Pest in jenes Land schicke und meinen Zorn darüber ausschütte und Blut vergieße, um Mensch und Tier auszumerzen,
even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.”
und wenn Noach, Daniel und Ijob in seiner Mitte wären — so wahr ich lebe, Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn: weder Sohn noch Tochter könnten sie retten. Nur sie würden um ihrer Gerechtigkeit willen ihr Leben retten.
For thus says the Lord GOD, “How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem: sword, famine, wild beasts and plague to cut off man and beast from it!
Wahrhaftig, so spricht GOTT, der Herr: Selbst wenn ich meine vier bösen Strafen, Schwert, Hunger, wilde Tiere und Pest, über Jerusalem bringe, um Mensch und Tier aus ihr auszumerzen,
“Yet, behold, survivors will be left in it who will be brought out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they are going to come forth to you and you will see their conduct and actions; then you will be comforted for the calamity which I have brought against Jerusalem for everything which I have brought upon it.
siehe, Entronnene werden in ihr übrig bleiben, die herausgeführt werden, Söhne und Töchter. Siehe, sie kommen heraus zu euch, und wenn ihr ihren Weg und ihre Taten seht, werdet ihr euch über das Böse hinwegtrösten, das ich über Jerusalem kommen ließ, über alles, was ich über sie kommen ließ.
“Then they will comfort you when you see their conduct and actions, for you will know that I have not done in vain whatever I did to it,” declares the Lord GOD.
Sie trösten euch, weil ihr ihren Weg und ihre Taten seht. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich all das, was ich der Stadt antat, nicht ohne Grund getan habe — Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn.
