The Prophet’s Call
Then He said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet that I may speak with you!”
Then He said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet that I may speak with you!”
Er sagte zu mir: Menschensohn, stell dich auf deine Füße; ich will mit dir reden.
As He spoke to me the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet; and I heard Him speaking to me.
Da kam Geist in mich, als er zu mir redete, und er stellte mich auf meine Füße. Und ich hörte den, der mit mir redete.
Then He said to me, “Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to a rebellious people who have rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day.
Er sagte zu mir: Menschensohn, ich sende dich zu den Söhnen Israels, zu abtrünnigen Völkern, die von mir abtrünnig wurden. Sie und ihre Väter sind von mir abgefallen, bis zum heutigen Tag.
“I am sending you to them who are stubborn and obstinate children, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’
Es sind Söhne mit trotzigem Gesicht und hartem Herzen. Zu ihnen sende ich dich. Du sollst zu ihnen sagen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr.
“As for them, whether they listen or not — for they are a rebellious house — they will know that a prophet has been among them.
Sie aber: Mögen sie hören oder es lassen — denn sie sind ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit — , sie werden erkennen müssen, dass mitten unter ihnen ein Prophet war.
“And you, son of man, neither fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; neither fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, for they are a rebellious house.
Du aber, Menschensohn, fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen, vor ihren Worten fürchte dich nicht! Wenn dich auch Disteln und Dornen umgeben und du auf Skorpionen sitzt, vor ihren Worten fürchte dich nicht und vor ihrem Blick erschrick nicht; denn sie sind ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit!
“But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.
Du sollst ihnen meine Worte sagen, mögen sie hören oder es lassen, denn sie sind widerspenstig.
“Now you, son of man, listen to what I am speaking to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”
Du aber, Menschensohn, höre, was ich zu dir sage. Sei nicht widerspenstig wie das Haus der Widerspenstigkeit! Öffne deinen Mund und iss, was ich dir gebe!
Then I looked, and behold, a hand was extended to me; and lo, a scroll was in it.
Und ich schaute und siehe: Eine Hand war ausgestreckt zu mir; und siehe, in ihr war eine Buchrolle.
