Israel war wie ein prächtiger Weinstock mit vielen Früchten. Ja, die Israeliten hatten es gut! Je besser es ihnen ging, desto mehr Altäre bauten sie. Je größer der Wohlstand im Land wurde, desto schöner verzierten sie die heiligen Steinsäulen.

Darum wird man das Kriegsgeschrei gegen euch anstimmen und alle eure Festungen dem Erdboden gleichmachen. Es wird euch gehen wie der Stadt Bet-Arbeel, die Schalman in der Schlacht verwüstete: Kleine Kinder wurden zerschmettert und ihre Mütter gleich noch dazu.
