All the Tribes Are Guilty

Hear this word which the LORD has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the entire family which He brought up from the land of Egypt:

Послухайте це слово, яке сказав Господь проти вас, доме Ізраїля, і проти всього племені, яке Я вивів з єгипетської землі, кажучи:

“You only have I chosen among all the families of the earth;
Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.”

Лише вас Я пізнав з усіх племен землі. Через це помщуся вам за всі ваші гріхи.

Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?

Хіба підуть двоє разом, якщо цілковито одне одного не пізнають?

Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey?
Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?

Чи зареве лев зі свого лісу, не маючи здобичі? Чи взагалі подасть свій голос левеня зі свого лігвища, якщо чогось не захопить?

Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it?
Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?

Хіба впаде птах на землю без ловця? Чи відкриється пастка на землі без того, аби щось вхопити?

If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble?
If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?

Чи заголосить труба в місті, і народ не занепокоїться? Чи буде в місті зло, яке Господь не зробив?

Surely the Lord GOD does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret counsel
To His servants the prophets.

Адже Господь Бог не вчинить дії, якщо не відкриє повчання Своїм рабам-пророкам.

A lion has roared! Who will not fear?
The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

Лев зареве, і хто не злякається? Господь Бог заговорив, і хто не пророкуватиме?

Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt and say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumults within her and the oppressions in her midst.

Сповістіть країнам у ассирійців і в країнах Єгипту, кажучи: Зберіться на гору Самарії і побачите багато дивовижного посеред неї, і надужиття сили в ній.

“But they do not know how to do what is right,” declares the LORD, “these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels.”

Вона ж не пізнала того, що буде перед нею, — говорить Господь, — ті, що збирають неправедність, то нещастя в їхніх околицях.

Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD,
“An enemy, even one surrounding the land,
Will pull down your strength from you
And your citadels will be looted.”

Тому так говорить Господь Бог: Тир і твоя земля довкола буде спустошена, і зведе з тебе твою силу, і твої країни будуть пограбовані.

Thus says the LORD,
“Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear,
So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away —
With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch!

Так говорить Господь: Як пастир, коли витягне з уст лева дві литки або частину вуха, так вирвані будуть сини Ізраїля, які живуть у Самарії, перед племенем, і священики в Дамаску.

“Hear and testify against the house of Jacob,”
Declares the Lord GOD, the God of hosts.

Послухайте і засвідчіть домові Якова, — говорить Господь, Бог Вседержитель, —

14

“For on the day that I punish Israel’s transgressions,
I will also punish the altars of Bethel;
The horns of the altar will be cut off
And they will fall to the ground.

тому що в день, коли Я помщуся за безбожності Ізраїля на ньому, також помщуся на престолах Ветиля, і будуть розбиті роги жертовника та впадуть на землю.

15

“I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house;
The houses of ivory will also perish
And the great houses will come to an end,”
Declares the LORD.

Я наведу замішання на дім з колонадами, на літній дім, і пропадуть слонові доми, і до них приєднається багато інших домів, — говорить Господь.
