Jesus Cleanses a Leper; The Centurion’s Faith

And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Da kam ein Aussätziger und warf sich vor ihm nieder: »Herr, wenn du willst, kannst du mich heilen!«
Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Jesus streckte die Hand aus, berührte ihn und sagte: »Das will ich! Sei gesund!« Im selben Augenblick war der Mann von seiner Krankheit geheilt.
And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Da befahl ihm Jesus nachdrücklich: »Sag niemandem etwas, sondern geh sofort zum Priester und lass dich von ihm untersuchen. Danach bring das Opfer dar, wie es Mose vorgeschrieben hat. So werden die Menschen sehen, dass ich im Auftrag Gottes handle.«
And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him,
Als Jesus in Kapernaum eintraf, kam ein Hauptmann des römischen Heeres zu ihm
and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.”
und bat ihn um Hilfe: »Herr, mein Diener liegt gelähmt bei mir zu Hause und leidet entsetzlich.«
Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
Jesus antwortete: »Ich will mitkommen und ihn heilen.«
But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
Der Hauptmann erwiderte: »Herr, ich bin es nicht wert, dich in meinem Haus zu empfangen. Sag nur ein einziges Wort, dann wird mein Diener gesund.
“For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
Auch ich stehe unter höherem Befehl und habe andererseits Soldaten, die mir gehorchen. Wenn ich zu einem sage: ›Geh!‹, dann geht er. Befehle ich einem anderen: ›Komm!‹, dann kommt er. Und wenn ich zu meinem Diener sage: ›Tu dies!‹, dann führt er meinen Auftrag aus.«
Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.
Als Jesus das hörte, wunderte er sich sehr. Er sagte zu den Menschen, die ihm gefolgt waren: »Eins ist sicher: Unter allen Juden in Israel bin ich keinem Menschen mit einem so festen Glauben begegnet.
“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
Und ich sage euch: Viele Menschen aus aller Welt werden kommen und mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob im Himmel das Freudenfest feiern.
but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Aber die ursprünglich für Gottes Reich bestimmt waren, werden in die tiefste Finsternis hinausgestoßen, wo es nur noch Heulen und ohnmächtiges Jammern gibt.«
And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.
Dann sagte Jesus zu dem Hauptmann: »Geh wieder nach Hause! Was du geglaubt hast, soll nun geschehen.« Zur selben Zeit wurde der Diener gesund.
Peter’s Mother-in-law and Many Others Healed
When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever.
Als Jesus in das Haus von Petrus kam, lag dessen Schwiegermutter mit hohem Fieber im Bett.
He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him.
Jesus ergriff ihre Hand, und sofort verschwand das Fieber. Sie konnte sogar aufstehen und für ihre Gäste sorgen.
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.
Am Abend brachte man viele von Dämonen beherrschte Menschen zu Jesus. Er brauchte nur ein Wort zu sagen, und die Besessenen wurden frei und alle Kranken geheilt.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.”
So sollte sich erfüllen, was Gott durch den Propheten Jesaja vorhergesagt hatte: »Er nahm unsere Leiden auf sich und trug unsere Krankheiten.«
Discipleship Tested
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side of the sea.
Als Jesus merkte, dass die Menschenmenge um ihn immer größer wurde, wollte er sich von seinen Jüngern mit einem Boot an das andere Ufer des Sees fahren lassen.
Then a scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”
Da kam ein Schriftgelehrter zu ihm und sagte: »Lehrer, ich will mit dir gehen, ganz gleich wohin.«
Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Jesus antwortete ihm: »Die Füchse haben ihren Bau und die Vögel ihre Nester; aber der Menschensohn hat keinen Platz, an dem er sich ausruhen kann.«
Another of the disciples said to Him, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.”
Einer, der zu seinen Jüngern gehörte, bat Jesus: »Herr, lass mich erst noch nach Hause gehen und meinen Vater bestatten.«
But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead.”
Doch Jesus erwiderte: »Komm jetzt mit mir und überlass es den Toten, ihre Toten zu begraben!«
When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
Danach stieg Jesus in das Boot und fuhr mit seinen Jüngern weg.
And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.
Mitten auf dem See brach plötzlich ein gewaltiger Sturm los, so dass die Wellen über dem Boot zusammenschlugen. Aber Jesus schlief.
And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!”
Da liefen die Jünger zu ihm, weckten ihn auf und riefen: »Herr, hilf uns, wir gehen unter!«
He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.
Jesus antwortete ihnen: »Warum habt ihr Angst? Vertraut ihr mir so wenig?« Dann stand er auf und befahl dem Wind und den Wellen, sich zu legen. Sofort hörte der Sturm auf, und es wurde ganz still.
The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
Alle fragten sich voller Staunen: »Was ist das für ein Mensch? Selbst Wind und Wellen gehorchen ihm!«
Jesus Casts Out Demons
When He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way.
Als Jesus am anderen Seeufer das Gebiet der Gadarener erreichte, kamen ihm zwei Männer entgegen, die von Dämonen beherrscht wurden. Sie hausten in Grabhöhlen und waren so gefährlich, dass niemand den Weg zu benutzen wagte, der dort entlangführte.
And they cried out, saying, “What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”
»Was willst du von uns, du Sohn Gottes?«, fingen sie an zu schreien. »Bist du gekommen, um uns schon jetzt zu quälen?«
Now there was a herd of many swine feeding at a distance from them.
In einiger Entfernung wurde eine große Schweineherde gehütet.
The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.”
Die Dämonen baten ihn: »Wenn du uns schon austreibst, dann lass uns wenigstens in diese Schweineherde fahren!«
And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters.
Jesus befahl ihnen: »Ja, fort mit euch!« Da verließen die Dämonen die beiden Männer und bemächtigten sich der Tiere. Sofort stürzte die ganze Herde den Abhang hinunter und ertrank im See.
The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs.
Die Schweinehirten ergriffen die Flucht, rannten in die Stadt und erzählten, was sie alles erlebt hatten und was mit den beiden Besessenen passiert war.
