Jesus Cleanses a Leper; The Centurion’s Faith
When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.

А коли Він зійшов із гори, услід за Ним ішов на́товп великий.
And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
І ось підійшов прокаже́ний, уклонився Йому та й сказав: „Коли, Господи, хочеш, — Ти можеш очистити мене!“
Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
А Ісус простяг руку, і доторкнувся до нього, говорячи: „Хо́чу, — будь чистий!“ І тієї хвилини очистився той від своєї прокази.
And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
І гово́рить до нього Ісус: „Гляди, — не розповіда́й ніко́му. Але йди, покажися священикові, та дар принеси́, якого Мойсей заповів, їм на свідо́цтво“.
And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him,
А коли Він до Капернау́му ввійшов, то до Нього набли́зився сотник, та й благати зачав Його,
and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.”
кажучи: „Господи, мій слуга лежить удома розсла́блений, і тяжко страждає“.
Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
Він говорить йому: „Я прийду́ й уздоро́влю його“.
But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
А сотник Йому відповів: „Недостойний я, Господи, щоб зайшов Ти під стрі́ху мою. Та промов тільки слово, — і ви́дужає мій слуга!
“For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
Бо й я — люди́на підвла́дна, і воякі́в під собою я маю; і одному кажу: піди — то йде він, а тому: прийди́ — і приходить, або рабо́ві своєму: зроби те — і він зро́бить“.
Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.
Почувши таке, Ісус здивувався, і промовив до тих, хто йшов услід за Ним: „Поправді кажу вам: навіть серед Ізраїля Я не знайшо́в був такої великої віри!
“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
Кажу́ ж вам, що багато-хто при́йдуть від сходу та за́ходу, і засядуть у Царстві Небеснім із Авраамом, Ісаком та Яковом.
but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Сини ж Царства — повки́дані бу́дуть до те́мряви зо́внішньої — буде там плач і скре́гіт зубів“!
And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.
I сказав Ісус сотникові: „Іди, і як повірив ти, нехай так тобі й станеться!“ І тієї ж години одужав слуга його.
Peter’s Mother-in-law and Many Others Healed
When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever.
Як прийшов же Ісус до Петрового дому, то побачив тещу його, що лежала в гарячці.
He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him.
І Він доторкнувся руки її, — і гарячка покинула ту... І встала вона, та й Йому прислуго́вувала!
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.
А коли настав вечір, привели́ багатьох біснуватих до Нього, — і Він словом Своїм вигнав ду́хів, а недужих усіх уздорови́в,
This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.”
щоб спра́вдилося, що сказав був Ісая пророк, промовляючи: „Він узяв наші немочі, і неду́ги поніс“.
Discipleship Tested
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side of the sea.
А як угледів Ісус навко́ло Себе багато наро́ду, наказав перепли́нути на то́й бік.
Then a scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”
І приступив один книжник та й до Нього сказав: „Учителю, я піду́ за Тобою, хоч би куди ти пішов!“
Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Промовляє до нього Ісус: „Мають но́ри лисиці, а гні́зда небесні пташки́, — Син же Лю́дський не має де й голови́ прихили́ти“.
Another of the disciples said to Him, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.”
А і́нший із у́чнів промовив до Ньо́го: „Дозволь мені, Господи, перше піти та ба́тька свого похова́ти“.
But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead.”
А Ісус йому каже: „Іди за Мною, і зостав мертвим ховати мерців своїх!“
When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
І коли Він до чо́вна вступив, за Ним увійшли Його у́чні.
And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.
І ось буря велика зірва́лась на морі, аж чо́вен зачав залива́тися хви́лями. А Він спав.
And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!”
І кинулись учні, і збудили Його та й благали: Рятуй, Господи, — ги́немо!“
He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.
А Він відповів їм: „Чого полохливі ви, маловірні?“ Тоді встав, заказав бурі й морю, — і тиша велика настала.
The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
А народ дивувався й казав: „Хто ж це такий, що ві́три та море слухня́ні Йому́?“
Jesus Casts Out Demons
When He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way.
І, як прибув Він на то́й бік, до землі Гадари́нської, перестріли Його два біснуваті, що вийшли з могильних пече́р, дуже люті, так що ніхто не міг перехо́дити тією дорогою.
And they cried out, saying, “What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”
І ось, вони стали кричати, говорячи: „Що́ Тобі, Сину Божий, до нас? Прийшов Ти сюди передчасно нас мучити?“
Now there was a herd of many swine feeding at a distance from them.
А опо́даль від них пасся гурт великий свине́й.
The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.”
І просилися де́мони, кажучи: „Коли виженеш нас, то пошли нас у той гурт свине́й“.
And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters.
А Він відповів їм: „Ідіть“. І вийшли вони, і пішли в гурт свиней. І ось кинувся з кручі до моря ввесь гурт, — і потопи́вся в воді.
The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs.
Пастухи ж повтікали; а коли прибули́ вони в місто, то про все розповіли́, і про біснуватих.
