And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.”
Und siehe, man brachte einen Gelähmten auf seinem Bett zu ihm. Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: Hab Vertrauen, mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!
And some of the scribes said to themselves, “This fellow blasphemes.”
Und siehe, einige Schriftgelehrte dachten: Er lästert Gott.
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?
Jesus wusste, was sie dachten, und sagte: Warum denkt ihr Böses in euren Herzen?
“Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’?
Was ist denn leichter, zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben! oder zu sagen: Steh auf und geh umher?
“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.”
Damit ihr aber erkennt, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben. Darauf sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh in dein Haus!
But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
Als die Leute das sahen, erschraken sie und priesen Gott, der solche Vollmacht den Menschen gegeben hat.
Matthew Called
As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector’s booth; and He said to him, “Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.
Als Jesus weiterging, sah er einen Mann namens Matthäus am Zoll sitzen und sagte zu ihm: Folge mir nach! Und Matthäus stand auf und folgte ihm nach.
Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.
Und als Jesus in seinem Haus bei Tisch war, siehe, viele Zöllner und Sünder kamen und aßen zusammen mit ihm und seinen Jüngern.
When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?”
Als die Pharisäer das sahen, sagten sie zu seinen Jüngern: Wie kann euer Meister zusammen mit Zöllnern und Sündern essen?
But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
Er hörte es und sagte: Nicht die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken.
“But go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Geht und lernt, was es heißt: Barmherzigkeit will ich, nicht Opfer! Denn ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder.
The Question about Fasting
Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”
Da kamen die Jünger des Johannes zu ihm und sagten: Warum fasten deine Jünger nicht, während wir und die Pharisäer fasten?
And Jesus said to them, “The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Jesus antwortete ihnen: Können denn die Hochzeitsgäste trauern, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Es werden aber Tage kommen, da wird ihnen der Bräutigam weggenommen sein; dann werden sie fasten.
“But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.
Niemand setzt ein Stück neuen Stoff auf ein altes Gewand; denn der neue Stoff reißt doch wieder ab und es entsteht ein noch größerer Riss.
“Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Auch füllt man nicht jungen Wein in alte Schläuche. Sonst reißen die Schläuche, der Wein läuft aus und die Schläuche sind unbrauchbar. Jungen Wein füllt man in neue Schläuche, dann bleibt beides erhalten.
Miracles of Healing
While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”
Während Jesus so mit ihnen redete, siehe, da kam ein Synagogenvorsteher, fiel vor ihm nieder und sagte: Meine Tochter ist eben gestorben; komm doch, leg ihr deine Hand auf und sie wird leben!
Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.
Jesus stand auf und folgte ihm mit seinen Jüngern.
And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak;
Und siehe, eine Frau, die schon zwölf Jahre an Blutfluss litt, trat von hinten heran und berührte den Saum seines Gewandes;
for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.”
denn sie sagte sich: Wenn ich auch nur sein Gewand berühre, werde ich geheilt.
But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well.” At once the woman was made well.
Jesus wandte sich um, und als er sie sah, sagte er: Hab keine Angst, meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dich gerettet! Und von dieser Stunde an war die Frau geheilt.
When Jesus came into the official’s house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder,
Als Jesus in das Haus des Synagogenvorstehers kam und die Flötenspieler und die Menge der klagenden Leute sah,
He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.
sagte er: Geht hinaus! Das Mädchen ist nicht gestorben, es schläft nur. Da lachten sie ihn aus.
But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.
Als man die Leute hinausgeworfen hatte, trat er ein und fasste das Mädchen an der Hand; da stand es auf.
This news spread throughout all that land.
Und die Kunde davon verbreitete sich in der ganzen Gegend.
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
Als Jesus weiterging, folgten ihm zwei Blinde und schrien: Hab Erbarmen mit uns, Sohn Davids!
When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
Nachdem er ins Haus gegangen war, kamen die Blinden zu ihm. Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Glaubt ihr, dass ich dies tun kann? Sie antworteten: Ja, Herr.
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.”
Darauf berührte er ihre Augen und sagte: Wie ihr geglaubt habt, so soll euch geschehen.
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!”
Da wurden ihre Augen geöffnet. Jesus aber wies sie streng an: Nehmt euch in Acht! Niemand darf es erfahren.
But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout all that land.
Doch sie gingen weg und erzählten von ihm in der ganzen Gegend.
As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed man was brought to Him.
Als sie gegangen waren, siehe, da brachte man einen Stummen zu ihm, der von einem Dämon besessen war.
After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
Er trieb den Dämon aus und der Stumme konnte reden. Alle Leute staunten und sagten: So etwas ist in Israel noch nie gesehen worden.
But the Pharisees were saying, “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”
Die Pharisäer aber sagten: Mit Hilfe des Anführers der Dämonen treibt er die Dämonen aus.
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
Jesus zog durch alle Städte und Dörfer, lehrte in ihren Synagogen, verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich und heilte alle Krankheiten und Leiden.
Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.
Als er die vielen Menschen sah, hatte er Mitleid mit ihnen; denn sie waren müde und erschöpft wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Da sagte er zu seinen Jüngern: Die Ernte ist groß, aber es gibt nur wenig Arbeiter.
