Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?
Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?
Wie ist es möglich, dass ihr als Christen eure Streitigkeiten vor Richtern austragt, die Gott nicht kennen, statt die Gemeinde um Rat zu bitten?
Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?
Wisst ihr denn nicht, dass wir als Christen einmal über die Welt richten werden? Dann müsstet ihr doch auch diese Kleinigkeiten unter euch selbst regeln können.
Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?
Ist euch denn nicht bewusst, dass wir sogar die Engel richten werden? Müsstet ihr dann nicht erst recht eure alltäglichen Streitigkeiten schlichten können?
So if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church?
Aber ihr lauft damit zu Richtern, die in der Gemeinde nichts zu sagen haben.
I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not among you one wise man who will be able to decide between his brethren,
Ihr solltet euch schämen! Gibt es denn in der ganzen Gemeinde keinen Einzigen, der genug Verstand hat, um einen Streit zwischen euch zu schlichten?
but brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?
Stattdessen zieht ein Christ den anderen vor Gericht und verklagt ihn, und das auch noch vor Ungläubigen.
Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
Schlimm genug, dass ihr euch überhaupt auf einen Rechtsstreit einlasst! Weshalb ertragt ihr es nicht lieber, wenn man euch Unrecht tut, und warum nehmt ihr nicht eher Nachteile in Kauf, anstatt auf euer Recht zu pochen?
On the contrary, you yourselves wrong and defraud. You do this even to your brethren.
Doch ihr tut selbst Unrecht und betrügt andere; sogar eure Brüder und Schwestern in der Gemeinde verschont ihr nicht!
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
Ist euch denn nicht klar, dass für Menschen, die Unrecht tun, in Gottes Reich kein Platz sein wird? Täuscht euch nicht: Wer sexuell unmoralisch lebt, Götzen anbetet, die Ehe bricht, wer sich von seinen Begierden treiben lässt und homosexuell verkehrt, wird nicht in Gottes Reich kommen;
nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
auch kein Dieb, kein Habgieriger, kein Trinker, kein Verleumder oder Räuber.
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Und das sind einige von euch gewesen. Aber jetzt sind eure Sünden abgewaschen. Ihr gehört nun ganz zu Gott; durch unseren Herrn Jesus Christus und durch den Geist unseres Gottes seid ihr freigesprochen.
The Body Is the Lord’s
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
»Es ist alles erlaubt«, sagt ihr. Das mag stimmen, aber es ist nicht alles gut. Mir ist alles erlaubt, aber ich will mich nicht von irgendetwas beherrschen lassen.
Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.
Ihr schreibt: »Das Essen ist für den Bauch, und der Bauch für das Essen. Beides hat Gott zur Vergänglichkeit bestimmt.« Das ist schon richtig. Aber es bedeutet nicht, dass Gott uns den Körper gab, damit wir sexuell unmoralisch leben! Vielmehr wurde auch unser Körper zum Dienst für den Herrn geschaffen. Deshalb ist es Gott nicht gleichgültig, wie wir damit umgehen.
Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.
Denn Gott wird uns durch seine Kraft vom Tod zum ewigen Leben auferwecken, so wie er Christus, den Herrn, auferweckt hat.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!
Wisst ihr denn nicht, dass auch euer Körper zum Leib von Jesus Christus gehört? Wollt ihr wirklich den Leib von Christus mit dem einer Hure vereinigen? Niemals!
Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.”
Denn wer sich mit einer Hure einlässt, der wird ein Leib mit ihr. Ist euch das nicht klar? Es heißt ja schon in der Heiligen Schrift von Mann und Frau: »Die zwei werden eins sein mit Leib und Seele.«
But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Wenn ihr dagegen in enger Verbindung mit dem Herrn lebt, werdet ihr mit ihm eins sein durch seinen Geist.
Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.
Hütet euch vor jeder verbotenen sexuellen Beziehung! Denn mit keiner anderen Sünde vergeht man sich so sehr am eigenen Körper wie mit sexuellem Fehlverhalten.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
Oder habt ihr etwa vergessen, dass euer Körper ein Tempel des Heiligen Geistes ist, der in euch wohnt und den euch Gott gegeben hat? Ihr gehört also nicht mehr euch selbst.
