preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
Verkünde das Wort, tritt auf, ob gelegen oder ungelegen, überführe, weise zurecht, ermahne, in aller Geduld und Belehrung!
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
Denn es wird eine Zeit kommen, in der man die gesunde Lehre nicht erträgt, sondern sich nach eigenen Begierden Lehrer sucht, um sich die Ohren zu kitzeln;
and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
und man wird von der Wahrheit das Ohr abwenden, sich dagegen Fabeleien zuwenden.
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Du aber sei in allem nüchtern, ertrage das Leiden, verrichte dein Werk als Verkünder des Evangeliums, erfülle treu deinen Dienst!

Schon jetzt liegt für mich der Kranz der Gerechtigkeit bereit, den mir der Herr, der gerechte Richter, an jenem Tag geben wird, aber nicht nur mir, sondern allen, die sein Erscheinen ersehnen.
