Siege of Jerusalem Symbolized
“Now, son of man, take a block of clay, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it.

А ти, сину лю́дський, візьми собі цегли́ну, і поклади її перед собою, і накре́слиш на ній місто Єрусалим.
Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it.
І постав проти нього обло́гу, і збудуй проти нього ба́шту, і ви́сип ва́ла навко́ло нього, і постав проти нього табо́ри ві́йська, і постав проти нього муроло́ми.
Then take an iron pan, place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign to the people of Israel.
І візьми собі залізну ско́вороду, і постав її ніби залізною стіною поміж собою та між тим містом, і зверни своє обличчя до нього, і буде воно в обло́зі, і ти обля́жеш його. Це ознака для Ізраїлевого дому!
А ти лягай на лівий свій бік, і поклади на нього провину Ізраїлевого дому. За числом днів, що будеш лежати на ньому, ти будеш носити їхню провину.
I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the people of Israel.
І Я призна́чив тобі роки їхньої провини за числом днів, — три сотні й дев'ятдеся́т днів, і ти бу́деш носити провину Ізраїлевого дому.
“After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the people of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.

І на обло́гу Єрусалиму зверни своє обличчя та відкрите раме́но своє, і бу́деш пророкувати на нього.
I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.
І ось Я накладу́ на тебе шну́ри, і ти не пове́рнешся з боку одно́го на інший бік, аж поки ти не закінчи́ш днів своєї облоги.
“Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the 390 days you lie on your side.

А ї́жа твоя, яку будеш ти їсти, буде вагою двадцять ше́клів на день, час від ча́су будеш це їсти.
І воду будеш пити мірою, шоста частина гі́на, час від ча́су будеш пити.
Eat the food as you would a loaf of barley bread; bake it in the sight of the people, using human excrement for fuel.”
І їстимеш це, як ячмінного калача́, і будеш пекти це на кава́лках лю́дського калу, перед їхніми очи́ма“.
The Lord said, “In this way the people of Israel will eat defiled food among the nations where I will drive them.”
І сказав Господь: „Так будуть їсти Ізраїлеві сини свій нечистий хліб серед тих наро́дів, куди Я їх ви́жену“.
Then I said, “Not so, Sovereign Lord! I have never defiled myself. From my youth until now I have never eaten anything found dead or torn by wild animals. No impure meat has ever entered my mouth.”
А я відказав: „О Господи, Боже, ось душа моя не занечи́щена, і па́дла та розшмато́ваного зві́рями я не їв від мо́лодости своєї й аж дотепер, і м'ясо нечисте не вхо́дило в мої уста“.
“Very well,” he said, “I will let you bake your bread over cow dung instead of human excrement.”
І сказав Він до мене: „Дивися, Я дав тобі това́рячий гній замість лю́дського калу, — і ти зроби на ньому свій хліб!“
He then said to me: “Son of man, I am about to cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair,
І сказав Він до мене: „Сину лю́дський, ось Я поламаю підпо́ру хліба в Єрусалимі, і будуть їсти хліб за вагою та в страху́, а воду будуть пити за мірою та зо сму́тком,
