“ ‘If anyone sins because they do not speak up when they hear a public charge to testify regarding something they have seen or learned about, they will be held responsible.
»Ein Sündopfer muss dargebracht werden, wenn jemand auf folgende Weise Schuld auf sich lädt: Jemand hört, wie unter Androhung eines Fluches zur Zeugenaussage aufgerufen wird, und er meldet sich nicht, obwohl er das Verbrechen gesehen oder davon erfahren hat;
“ ‘If anyone becomes aware that they are guilty — if they unwittingly touch anything ceremonially unclean (whether the carcass of an unclean animal, wild or domestic, or of any unclean creature that moves along the ground) and they are unaware that they have become unclean, but then they come to realize their guilt;
jemand berührt, ohne es zu merken, den Kadaver eines wilden oder zahmen Tieres oder eines Kriechtieres und macht sich dadurch unrein;
or if they touch human uncleanness (anything that would make them unclean) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt;
jemand erkennt zu spät, dass er einen Menschen berührt hat, der aus irgendeinem Grund unrein ist;
or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath to do anything, whether good or evil (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt —
jemand spricht unüberlegt einen Schwur aus — so wie man schnell einmal etwas unbedacht sagt und erst später die Folgen merkt —, ganz gleich ob er mit dem Schwur etwas Gutes oder Schlechtes bewirken wollte.
when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
In allen diesen Fällen muss der Betreffende zuerst seine Schuld bekennen.
Dann soll er zur Wiedergutmachung ein weibliches Schaf oder eine Ziege als Sündopfer darbringen, und der Priester soll ihn dadurch mit mir versöhnen.
“ ‘Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons to the Lord as a penalty for their sin — one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.
Wenn er sich ein Schaf oder eine Ziege nicht leisten kann, soll er mir zwei Turteltauben oder zwei andere Tauben als Opfer darbringen, eine als Sündopfer und die andere als Brandopfer.
They are to bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one for the sin offering. He is to wring its head from its neck, not dividing it completely,
Er soll sie dem Priester geben. Der Priester bringt die erste Taube als Sündopfer dar. Er bricht ihr das Genick, ohne jedoch dabei den Kopf abzutrennen.
and is to splash some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar; the rest of the blood must be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.
Etwas von ihrem Blut spritzt er an die Altarwand, den Rest lässt er am Fuß des Altars auslaufen. Dies ist das Sündopfer.
The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way and make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.
Die zweite Taube bringt er mir als Brandopfer dar, so wie es vorgeschrieben ist. Auf diese Weise soll der Priester den Schuldigen mit mir versöhnen, und ich werde ihm vergeben.
Wenn der Betreffende sich auch zwei Turteltauben oder zwei andere Tauben nicht leisten kann, darf er als Opfergabe für seine Sünde eineinhalb Kilogramm feines Weizenmehl darbringen. Er soll aber weder Öl noch Weihrauch dazugeben, denn es ist ein Sündopfer.
Er bringt das Mehl dem Priester; dieser nimmt eine Handvoll und verbrennt es zu meinem Gedenken auf dem Altar, wo er zuvor die anderen Opfer in Rauch aufgehen ließ. Auch dies ist ein Sündopfer.
In this way the priest will make atonement for them for any of these sins they have committed, and they will be forgiven. The rest of the offering will belong to the priest, as in the case of the grain offering.’ ”
So versöhnt der Priester den Schuldigen mit mir, und ich werde ihm vergeben. Das übrige Mehl soll wie beim Speiseopfer dem Priester gehören.«
»Wenn jemand mir untreu wird und — wenn auch ohne Absicht — es versäumt, die Abgaben für das Heiligtum zu entrichten, dann soll er einen fehlerlosen Schafbock als Schuldopfer darbringen. Das Opfertier muss einen angemessenen Wert haben. Als Maßstab gelten Silberstücke, gewogen nach dem Gewicht, das im Heiligtum gilt.
They must make restitution for what they have failed to do in regard to the holy things, pay an additional penalty of a fifth of its value and give it all to the priest. The priest will make atonement for them with the ram as a guilt offering, and they will be forgiven.
Der Schuldige muss erstatten, was er dem Heiligtum vorenthalten hat. Außerdem soll er ein Fünftel des Wertes zusätzlich bezahlen und alles dem Priester geben. Dieser bringt den Schafbock als Schuldopfer dar und versöhnt so den Schuldigen mit mir; dann werde ich ihm vergeben.
“If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.
Wenn jemand unabsichtlich gegen eines meiner Gebote verstößt, so ist er doch schuldig und muss sich dafür verantworten.
They are to bring to the priest as a guilt offering a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the wrong they have committed unintentionally, and they will be forgiven.
Er soll einen fehlerlosen Schafbock als Schuldopfer zum Priester bringen. Vorher wird bestimmt, welchen Wert das Tier haben soll. Dann soll der Priester den Schuldigen mit mir versöhnen, und ich werde ihm vergeben, was er unabsichtlich getan hat.
