If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,
If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,
Ihr sollt den vollständigen Wortlaut dessen, worauf ich euch verpflichte, bewahren und euch daran halten. Du sollst nichts hinzufügen und nichts wegnehmen.
and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,”
Wenn in deiner Mitte ein Prophet oder ein Traumseher auftritt und dir ein Zeichen oder Wunder ankündigt,
you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
wobei er sagt: Folgen wir anderen Göttern nach, die du bisher nicht kanntest, und verpflichten wir uns, ihnen zu dienen!, und wenn das Zeichen und Wunder, das er dir angekündigt hatte, eintrifft,
It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
dann sollst du nicht auf die Worte dieses Propheten oder Traumsehers hören; denn der HERR, euer Gott, prüft euch, um zu erkennen, ob ihr das Volk seid, das den HERRN, seinen Gott, mit ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele liebt.
That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.
Ihr sollt dem HERRN, eurem Gott, nachfolgen, ihn sollt ihr fürchten, seine Gebote sollt ihr bewahren, auf seine Stimme sollt ihr hören, ihm sollt ihr dienen, an ihm sollt ihr euch festhalten.
If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,
Der Prophet oder Traumseher aber soll mit dem Tod bestraft werden. Er hat euch aufgewiegelt gegen den HERRN, euren Gott, der euch aus Ägypten geführt und dich aus dem Sklavenhaus freigekauft hat. Denn er wollte dich davon abbringen, auf dem Weg zu gehen, auf den der HERR, dein Gott, dich verpflichtet hat. Du sollst das Böse aus deiner Mitte wegschaffen.

Wenn dein Bruder, der dieselbe Mutter hat wie du, oder dein Sohn oder deine Tochter oder deine Frau, mit der du schläfst, oder dein Freund, den du liebst wie dich selbst, dich heimlich verführen will und sagt: Gehen wir und dienen wir anderen Göttern, die du nicht kanntest, weder du noch deine Vorfahren —
do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them.
aus den Göttern der Völker, die euch umgeben, dir nah, dir fern, überall, zwischen dem einen Ende der Erde und dem andern Ende der Erde — ,
You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people.
dann sollst du nicht nachgeben und nicht auf ihn hören. Du sollst in dir kein Mitleid mit ihm aufsteigen lassen, sollst keine Nachsicht für ihn kennen und die Sache nicht vertuschen,
Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
sondern du sollst ihn umbringen. Wenn er hingerichtet wird, sollst du als Erster deine Hand gegen ihn erheben, dann erst das ganze Volk.
Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.
Du sollst ihn steinigen und er soll sterben; denn er hat versucht, dich vom HERRN, deinem Gott, abzubringen, der dich aus Ägypten geführt hat, aus dem Sklavenhaus.
If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in
Ganz Israel soll davon hören, damit sie sich fürchten und nicht noch einmal einen solchen Frevel in deiner Mitte begehen.
that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known),
Wenn du aus einer deiner Städte, die der HERR, dein Gott, dir als Wohnort gibt, erfährst:
then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you,
Niederträchtige Menschen sind aus deiner Mitte herausgetreten und haben ihre Mitbürger vom HERRN abgebracht, indem sie sagten: Gehen wir und dienen wir anderen Göttern, die ihr bisher nicht kanntet!,
wenn du dann durch Augenschein und Vernehmung genaue Ermittlungen angestellt hast und sich gezeigt hat: Ja, es ist wahr, der Tatbestand steht fest, dieser Gräuel ist in deiner Mitte geschehen,
You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt,
dann sollst du die Bürger dieser Stadt mit scharfem Schwert erschlagen, du sollst an der Stadt und an allem, was darin lebt, auch am Vieh, mit scharfem Schwert den Bann vollziehen.
Alles, was du in der Stadt erbeutet hast, sollst du auf dem Marktplatz aufhäufen, dann sollst du die Stadt und die gesamte Beute als Ganzopfer für den HERRN, deinen Gott, im Feuer verbrennen. Für immer soll sie ein Schutthügel bleiben und nie wieder aufgebaut werden.
because you obey the Lord your God by keeping all his commands that I am giving you today and doing what is right in his eyes.
Von dem Banngut soll nichts an deiner Hand kleben, damit der HERR von seinem glühenden Zorn ablässt und dir wieder sein Erbarmen schenkt, sich deiner annimmt und dich wieder zahlreich macht, wie er es deinen Vätern geschworen hat
