The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

Selig der Mann, der nicht nach dem Rat der Frevler geht, nicht auf dem Weg der Sünder steht, nicht im Kreis der Spötter sitzt,

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he [b]meditates day and night.

sondern sein Gefallen hat an der Weisung des HERRN, bei Tag und bei Nacht über seine Weisung nachsinnt.

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the [c]rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

Er ist wie ein Baum, gepflanzt an Bächen voll Wasser, der zur rechten Zeit seine Frucht bringt und dessen Blätter nicht welken. Alles, was er tut, es wird ihm gelingen.

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Nicht so die Frevler: Sie sind wie Spreu, die der Wind verweht.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Darum werden die Frevler im Gericht nicht bestehen noch die Sünder in der Gemeinde der Gerechten.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Denn der HERR kennt den Weg der Gerechten, der Weg der Frevler aber verliert sich.
