God the Sovereign Savior

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the Lord, who spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said:

I will love You, O Lord, my strength.

Проводиреві хора: Від раба Господнього Давида, котрий сьпівав слово піснї сієї до Господа, як Господь ізбавив його з рук ворогів його і з рук Саула. І сказав він: Л юблю тебе, Господи, сило моя!

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my [a]strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the [b]horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Господь скеля моя, і ізбавленнє моє; мій Бог, моє прибіжище, на него вповати му. Він щит мій і ріг мого спасення, башта моя високая.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Покличу Господа, котрому належиться слава, і від ворогів моїх спасуся.

4

The pangs of death surrounded me,
And the floods of [c]ungodliness made me afraid.

Обгорнули мене муки смертні, злякали мене потоки погибелї.

5

The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me;
The snares of death confronted me.

Пута пекольні обняли мене, сїти смертні обхопили мене.

6

In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.

В тїснотї моїй заквилив я до Господа, і благав Бога мого; він почув з храму свого голос мій, і благаннє моє дійшло до слуху його.

7

Then the earth shook and trembled;
The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken,
Because He was angry.

Захиталась тодї і задрожала земля, тремтїли підвалини гір і хитались, бо запалав він гнївом.

Smoke went up from His nostrils,
And devouring fire from His mouth;
Coals were kindled by it.

Бухнув дим із нїздер його, і вогонь пожираючий посипався із уст його, углє паляще бурхало з него.

9

He bowed the heavens also, and came down
With darkness under His feet.

Нахилив небеса, і спустився на землю, і стала чорна хмара під ногами його.

10

And He rode upon a cherub, and flew;
He flew upon the wings of the wind.

10

І возсївши на херувима, прилетїв, і вознїсся на крилах вітряних.

11

He made darkness His secret place;
His canopy around Him was dark waters
And thick clouds of the skies.

Темряву зробив своїм покровом, наметом кругом себе — темряву вод, густі воздушні хмари.

From the brightness before Him,
His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire.

При сяєві блискавок його пересунулась перед ним густа його хмара, і посипались гряд і углє огнисте.

The Lord thundered from heaven,
And the Most High uttered His voice,
[d]Hailstones and coals of fire.

І загремів Господь на небесах, і Всевишнїй підняв свій голос — гряд і углє паляще.

14

He sent out His arrows and scattered [e]the foe,
Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them.

Пустив стріли свої, і розігнав їх, і метнув блискавками, і заколотив їх.

15

Then the channels of the sea were seen,
The foundations of the world were uncovered
At Your rebuke, O Lord,
At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

15

І зявились зливні потоки, і підвалини сьвіта розкрились від грізного голосу твого, Господи, від лютування гнїва твого.

16

He sent from above, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.

16

Він простер руку з високостї, і, вхопивши, витяг мене з поводї великої.

17

He delivered me from my strong enemy,
From those who hated me,
For they were too strong for me.

17

Він вирятував мене від сильного ворога мого і від ненависників моїх, були бо вони дужші від мене.

18

They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
But the Lord was my support.

18

Вони запопали мене в день нещастя мого, та Господь був підпорою моєю.

19

He also brought me out into a broad place;
He delivered me because He delighted in me.

19

Випровадив мене на простір, і визволив, бо вподобав мене.

20

The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness;
According to the cleanness of my hands
He has recompensed me.

Віддав менї Господь по правдї моїй, по чистотї рук моїх нагородив мене.

21

For I have kept the ways of the Lord,
And have not wickedly departed from my God.

Бо державсь я на дорозї Господнїй, і не відступив, як безбожний, від Бога мого.

22

For all His judgments were before me,
And I did not put away His statutes from me.

22

Бо всї заповідї його були передо мною, і від приказів його я не відхилився.

23

I was also blameless [f]before Him,
And I kept myself from my iniquity.

23

Я був правий перед ним, і стеріг ся робити кому кривду.

24

Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness,
According to the cleanness of my hands in His sight.

24

І Господь віддав менї по правдї моїй, по чистотї рук моїх перед очима його.

25

With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

25

Для милосердного ти являєшся милосердним; для чоловіка звершеного — звершеним.

26

With the pure You will show Yourself pure;
And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

26

Для чистого являєшся чистим, а від лукавого — ти одвертаєшся.

27

For You will save the humble people,
But will bring down haughty looks.

27

Ти бо спасаєш народ бідолашний, і принизуєш очі гордих.

28

For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

28

Бо ти запалюєш сьвітильника мого; Господь, Бог мій, просьвітить темряву мою.

29

For by You I can [g]run against a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.

29

Бо з тобою піду на роту, з Богом моїм проберуся через мури.

30

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is [h]proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Дороги Божі праві; слова Господнї чисті; він щит для всїх уповаючих на него.

31

For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?

31

Бо хто Бог, кромі Господа, і хто скеля, як тілько Бог наш.

32

It is God who arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.

32

Бог, що підперезує мене силою, і рівняє для мене дорогу.

33

He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
And sets me on my high places.

33

Робить мої ноги, як в ланї, і ставить мене на висотах моїх.

34

He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

34

Навчає руки мої до бою, і напинати зелїзного лука.

35

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation;
Your right hand has held me up,
Your gentleness has made me great.

Ти дав менї щит спасення твого, і правиця твоя піддержувала мене, і милість твоя зробила мене великим.

36

You enlarged my path under me,
So my feet did not slip.

36

Ти дав простір стопам моїм, і ноги мої не спотикнулись.

37

I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them;
Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.

37

Погнався я за ворогами, і здогонив їх, і не вернувся, доки не знищив їх.

38

I have wounded them,
So that they could not rise;
They have fallen under my feet.

38

Розбив їх, і не змогли встати; полягли під ногами моїми.

39

For You have armed me with strength for the battle;
You have [i]subdued under me those who rose up against me.

39

І ти підперезав мене силою до бою, кинув під ноги мої тих, що проти мене встали.

40

You have also given me the necks of my enemies,
So that I destroyed those who hated me.

40

І ти віддав менї хребти ворогів моїх, і тих, що ненавидять мене, я знищу.

41

They cried out, but there was none to save;
Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.

41

Підняли вони зойк, — та не було кому рятувати їх, — до Господа, а він не вислухав їх.

42

Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind;
I cast them out like dirt in the streets.

42

І я розбиваю їх як порох перед вітром; як сьміттє з улицї, викинув їх.

43

You have delivered me from the strivings of the people;
You have made me the head of the [j]nations;
A people I have not known shall serve me.

43

Ти спас мене від бунту людей, ти поставив мене головою над народами, менї служить народ, котрого не знав я перше.

44

As soon as they hear of me they obey me;
The foreigners [k]submit to me.

Почувши тілько, вже стали послушними менї; сини чужоземні піддались менї, піддобруючись.

The foreigners fade away,
And come frightened from their hideouts.

45

Сини чужоземні злякались, і тремтїли в замках своїх.

46

The Lord lives!
Blessed be my Rock!
Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Господь жиє, і благословенна будь моя скеля, і нехай буде прославлений Бог мого спасення!

It is God who avenges me,
And subdues the peoples under me;

47

Бог, що дав менї помститись, і покорив менї народи,

He delivers me from my enemies.
You also lift me up above those who rise against me;
You have delivered me from the violent man.

Що спас мене від ворогів моїх; ба й піднїс мене над ними, що встали проти мене; від чоловіка розбишаки збавив мене.

Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the [l]Gentiles,
And sing praises to Your name.

49

За се, Господи, воздам хвалу тобі між народами, і сьпівати му псальми імени твоєму.

50

Great deliverance He gives to His king,
And shows mercy to His anointed,
To David and his [m]descendants forevermore.

50

Ти бо дав велику підмогу і спасеннє цареві, і надїлив милостю помазаньця свого Давида і рід його по віки.
